Red and yellow at my home course. Works grand. Used to have little balls indicating position but these no longer fit on the new pins. #

Love courses with colour changing to indicate position as it's useful but only when combined with a GPS or a good course planner. Not much use if you have markers indicating distance to front or centre but no idea of the size of the green.

Hate dark blue flags. Have trouble seeing them and find they are difficult to lock on to with laser range finder at distance.

Red - Front
Yellow - Middle
White - Back

Some greens can be creative in terms of flag colour and placement

Another with sighting issues, really struggle with the red flags at my place some days, traffic flags are great for me although I like the idea of a chequered flag on the last ala West Midlands Golf Club

best thread ever!

And yet it only has one star?! quiet day today??

My club use the red, yellow, white and it works very well. outside of the colours actually having a use, i couldn't give a monkies what colour they are, use old pants for all i care.

Thanks to region3 would educated me as to the colour system at my own course a few years ago! I had never really noticed as most courses I'd ever played before were red/yellow for front nine or back nine. Felt a little stupid then realised it all made sense!

We generally use the red/yellow/white approach, but for big events they get out white flags with the club crest and they look great.

That's a nice touch.

Due to have 3 different 9 hole loops we cannot operate the trafic light system, people struggle enough using common sense to denote which tees there are playing so we have a blue red and yellow course which has appropriate coloured pins.

We are aiming for mini flags to denote pin positions

We do the same. First time I played to the all white flags it took me about 10 holes to realise they were not all back flag positions.:o
