Arrogance - members thinking they own the course.

No dress code - just attracts scallywags

No FORE shouting - just stupid

Litter - Just rude

oh and people who wont play through. I have had issues with this as a high handicapper. I feel I'm holding someone up so I invite them to play through. They won't then I just feel the pressure mount tick tick tick tick

1) People who think they own the course

5) People who have no respect for others playing a stroke, i.e walking past a guy teeing off whilst rabbiting to his chums, laughing and slurping a drink.

These 2 are my most annoying things that goes on at all golf courses

I cannot abide people not shouting "fore"

The last medal I played we were on the 9th tee, on the 8th there was another 4-ball, 3 of whoms balls landed right near us without a single shout.

What was worse is that the group who didnt shout was one of the "old cliquey committee farts" 4-balls which had 3 ex-captains in.

I marched over to them and asked them why they didnt shout, I got no credible response and said basically that if they hit me, I would be suing them for bucks. I also said that as ex-captains, they should be setting a good example also.

Everything Murph says + the peasents who use pink castle tees on my course and wont pick the spike out of the mat when they've destroyed the tee making it impossible to get another tee in without lifting up the mat , pulling out the rubber, clearing it out, putting it back in and then cleaning your hands!!!
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

I am staggered at how many people agree with me.

How could I know ginger leftie Ping players were so unpopular.

As it happens the guy who scored 44 points at the weekend and beat me into 2nd place is a Ginger-whinging Pingplaying leftie!!!

No discrimination meant!!! :p

Even more reason to pickle myself with sailor jerrys rum with coke.

Hope that has a slice of lime in! Very tasty drink.

And just think of it like having a new woman in bed.

The golf snob in me absolutly hates seeing people walking onto the course in jeans and trainers, if someone doesn't observe the dress code its a fair assumption course rules are ignored too!

I'm sure there are more - discuss!

Fully agree with this. These are the ones who, when waiting behind you on tee, will talk through your backswing.

Even though we normally play municipal pay and plays, there is still supposed to be a dress code and we all follow it. People in vest tops on the course should be chucked in the nearest lake!

Sorry but that is utter twaddle! I could point out almost every day people dressed in the finest reccomended garb doing exactly the same thing as well as complaining about others.

Not suggesting that bad behaviour is limited only to those not observing the dress code, but those in that category usually are in that vein.

You're quite right, I've seen many a person dressed up to the nines who couldn't hit a ball for toffee and have no idea about etiquette!

I don't think I have seen un-raked bunkers on here yet- that really gets me, in addition to most of the things already mentioned.

This one is over-rated. It's a hazard so you shouldn't expect a good lie and an easy out.
If you just learn to expect an awful lie then you won't get wound up when you see the ball, accept the shot it'll likely cost you and move on. Even the best bunker players in the world only have a 60% up and down success from greenside bunkers.

What annoys me are unrepaired pitch marks on the green. Either people are too lazy to repair them, or they don't know how to. Why doesn't a reputable Golf Magazine give away a free pitch repair fork along with an article explaining how to use one?
I suggestd my Club supply one to each member with their fixture cards containing instructions, but so far no joy. Too expensive I suppose!
