It would take me about three years to hole 100 3-footers in a row.
I went to the club on my lunch today and did an hour on the putting green. Right at the end I set myself a target of making four 6 ft putts in a row... the amount I missed on the last ball was actually quite funny and shows under pressure how much I wilt.

Definitely worth while... made me genuinely think I was going to miss a teams meeting.

Yeah I can picture it now.
"If I don't make this I'm going to miss the meeting.."

That was kind of my point this morning. By having to make each putt at the four stations before moving to the next distance definitely ramps up the pressure and keeps you focused

Will continue to play throughout the winter period. Only change will be that when it gets overly soft I will drop the 60 degree wedge from the bag. Might see if I can pick up a Ping Chipr to experiment with over the winter when the greenside lies are a bit claggier.

No real plans to practice any more than I do at the moment, as our course is playable all year round. The only real change to my routine will be the range one evening a week in place of the usual 9 holes with mates, but other than that it’s largely business as usual for me.

See your point but it’s probably not that long. I’ve done 30 in about 10mins. My point is that causal golfers wouldn’t want to do this even if they could.
In reality to improve a lot you would need to practice a lot. It's OK saying such and such a drill only takes 30 minutes, but there's never a comparison between the hours a pro( or a very lucky amateur) can put in compared to a club player.

Indeed, there is no comparison, so we are not comparing. 🙃 Trying to use whatever time one has effectively can go a long way to improving.

Sorry, my posts have been in response to what Cam Smith does as mentioned in an earlier post not other people's winter plans.

I will be playing through the winter when the course is open, however i am going to make another attempt to improve my putting and short game, I am going to try left hand lower on the putter so see if I can get rid the the putter movement that plagues me

Indoor or outdoor.?
Imo practicing putting on very slow winter greens harms your stroke not helps.

Went for this morning practice (I always use Fridays session as a warm up ahead of Saturdays golf)
55 on the range then about the same on short game finishing with about 30 putts from various lengths/slopes

Sun had only been up for about 20 mins when I arrived and all the sprinklers doing their thing. Looked really nice, didn't want to leave but its still a school day

I'll be honest, I made a late decision to do a WFH today, so if i can get through my to do list there's a chance i'll pop back late afternoon :sneaky:
Playing at a new course tomorrow (winners get a spot in the dpwt pro-am) I'm striking it well but still don't rate my chances

both |I do had a decent carpet I can put on and in any event it is on shorter putts where my problem lies
Great drill I was given by an old pro for short putts.

Lay an alignment stick or shaft near head right on the front lip of the hole.
You must hit it hard enough to get the ball over the stick.
Really good for short putts as it makes you hit positive putts.

My course is good drainage so majority of my practice will just be playing through the winter

Will go the range and work on strike a bit in between rounds maybe once a week

Plus the par 3 course with my dad if he wants that gets the short game going
