WHS Survey in 2024 - Have Any Results Been Published?

They were referred to in the recent workshops but only in terms of key topics and takeaways not any stats. They were mainly brushed aside saying that committees need to do better and that they should be more diligent with the available (no new) resources. Also that players needed to understand the system more and make better use of the available educational tools. A bit patronising really.

Sounds like classical group think.
Ignore what people think if it doesn't suit the preconceived ideas.

I did notice some comments on asking the ISVs to change their software around the GP entry to ensure the attesters are physically near the course in question and ensuring it was attested to that day - but it wasn't directly linked to the survey.

It's a bit like a lawyer......who only asks a question if they know the answer.

Don't start a survey if you don't know the result....:ROFLMAO:

Well according to that article.
'The overall results have not yet been published'.
Though they have learned a couple of 'key takeaways'

I suspect there are some benefits to EG if they make changes and link it to the survey findings. I appreciate the USGA / R&A own the system so local changes are limited, but why ask the question if you aren't going to do anything with the answers?

At least if EG said "these are our findings and we will be approaching the owners with a view to the following changes" they would have credibility with their members.

I think golfers gave the wrong answers, saying they didnt like WHS, and that it was a cheats charter. So a fail by the golfing grass roots there. So survey probably shelved, and a new one will opened in a few years time when the R&A judges that we might be able to give the answers they want to receive. No public acclaim, ringing endorsement of WHS survey results will be published until the correct results are received. At the moment its a case of 'must try harder'.

Still waiting to hear the survey or any complaints about WHS mentioned anywhere other than the forum.

They aren’t going to announce the results

They have drip fed through various articles some outliners

And not sure what your is like but plenty of complaints within our club about WhS

I've heard none at ours
More than enough clubs raising it through the official channels for them be be taking significant action on the competitions. I think the wording in the release was that it was specifically due to feedback from clubs, and not from any initiative or analysis from the regional associations. So sufficient discontent to prompt a very short notice change, under pressure from real clubs, not the ivory towers. That is not just a few facebook keyboard warriors or grumblers at a clubhouse bar.

Today is D day in Ireland I think for the new rule. I see mention also of a survey from Golf Ireland. Is that the R&A one referred to, or did Ireland Golf do their own as well ? Maybe that is where they felt the unhappiness as well as club submissions directly. Was that survey published ? Not that I can find. Maybe the feedback was too critical there too.
