When your playing well do you practice? Or do you let your swing take care of its self? After reading a few threads on practicing recently who doesn't practice?

I dont! I get bored at the range and its to cold for chipping/putting practice.

I like to play as much as I can and improve that way. I've been playing under my handicap throughout winter almost every round and can't wait until we start the qualifiers so I can't get to single figures!

I have tried the range but soon lose interest and start trying to hit strange shots.

I know I should practice but what can I do to get a good practice routine going?

Only practise I have is on the course playing - don't bother with ranges or practise ground etc - bores me

Kind of bizarrely, I generally only go to the range if I don't have time for at least 9 holes and I'm bored!
Trouble is I get bored at the range too so start messing around.
I'm just a serial bad practicer!

I class 9 holes on my own as practice!

I don't like the range but I like to practice on the course or short game practice area at the course!

If I'm not playing in a comp, I class all other golf as practice .......

I practice religiously, every day.

Sometimes it's a few pints after work, other days just a quick bottle of beer while watching the footie of an evening. Come the weekend, then it takes more planning depending what else is going on but I always manage to fit it in. If I go a few days without practice my technique really starts to suffer.

Oh wait, you meant Golf...

I love practice as much as playing. When I don't practice well I don't play well.

If I don't practice well or not at all I can barely break 100.

With regular fundamental and short game practice my swing comes back and I magically score much better.

Just got back from 250 balls and 3.5 hours on the range. Its about all I can get at the minute as not a member anywhere and playing partners are all in winter leagues at the mo.

That being said I have plenty to work on with my Flightscope. Today I did my first full Combine which was errm intertesting! 160 out of 345 points! Had some directional issues with the tracking which lost me many points. Gotta start somewhere though....

Anyone that wants to get better really needs time on sub 120 yards in and short game IMO. But fully understand that peeps rather practice play out on course...

I go to the range practically every day I don't actually play. It's like a social club, I know the proprietor, staff & pro well & a lot of the "happy hour" clientele too. A practice session usually begins and/or ends with a chat with someone. It's how I fill in most mornings. If you practise intelligently I can't see how it won't benefit your game, it's the very best place to groove a swing & the unforgiving mats make you hit every shot cleanly otherwise tingly fingers result. But you must change clubs frequently & choose a target. Blasting balls indiscriminately is a waste of time.

About 3 times a year I hit 10 balls before a round. Not working on anything... Just getting a swing in. Usually just a chat, then out!
