Whats your worst medal score

Why not?

I played badly this week end. 86, 88 in the 36 hole medal. That's about as bad as it normally gets. If I am spraying it about much worse than this, there will lost balls, and I've never seen the point in trying to complete a score once your not going to buffer.
What's the point? Blow your h/cap on the front nine, drop a few more on 10, 11, 12, and then lose 2 drives down 17, why continue just to post a score.

If more people n/r'd when they hit the point of no return, maybe we wouldn't be out there for 4 1/2 hours. I love it when the 3 in front have messed about lining up putts for an 11, just to try to break 100 of a ten h/cap.

Have to agree with this.

I have had bad rounds in medals, however if i'm looking at shooting double my handicap I will gladly N/R so my PP can keep their sanity. Nothing worse that playing with someone shooting double or triple handicap taking ages over a chip thinning it through the green walking round duff, duff, chip then three putts.

All this when some poor sole on a score is waiting around for them, have had this done to me and so hard to keep on your game when waiting so long and looking for balls on nearly every hole.

I've thankfully forgotten the cricket scores from when I was first learning but they don't count anyway:D

Was playing off 3 and shot 88 (+16), I think, in county championship a few years ago in the morning and then 71 (-1) in the afternoon. No excuses, I was just plain hopeless in the morning. It was a great lesson in taking pressure off myself, though, as didn't care a bit for what happened in the afternoon and just gripped it and ripped it to quote Big JD.

I holed a lovely 20 footer for an 11 on the 18th and a round of 99 at Aylesbury Vale Golf Club in the first round of the Club champs some years ago - I was off 6 at the time. Silly but I was quite happy to beat 100 with that putt as I knew the round had gone some time before - small victories!

A long time ago(15 years at a guess), I entered the club championship with a friend. Thankfully we got paired up in the morning with another guy who was a very good player as his partner did not turn up.

I just did not have any interest in playing golf for various personal reasons but was grateful for the other guy as this allowed for.....

Let say this after I played four holes I went home as I scored 10 plus on the first three holes IIRC but didn't wish to let my friend down. So overall score would have been massive like 120 plus probably, think was I was probably mid teens handicap and was playing better golf than that at that time.

Other than that time I have never walked off a course but for various personal reasons just didn't wish to be there. Really was my worst day of golf ever.

Only renember one, a 103.

It was my first and I had a
5 putt from 3 feet.

Also picks up a couple of penalties for not knowing the rules well enough. Made it through as a better folder for the experience however.

August 2015. Medal. Playing off 13. I shot 113, the same as one of my playing partners!
I was so tempted to take a brief hiatus from the game, but had a lesson instead.
September 2015. Medal and first round of Club Championships. Off 13. Shot an 84!
Weird game!

If it's going south, I'll N/R if I'm taking too long, don't want to ruin PP rounds. 😆

Is there not a negative effect on CSS if people N/R?

I was always under the impression that you should return a score because it would mean CSS would be high if people returned poor scores but might stay low if those people N’R’d. Or have I been labouring under a misconception (to be fair my understanding of CSS is limited at best!)?

Apart from N/R's that could have ended up up in the millions, a 92 last year was my highest for 40+yrs. 92-5=87 for a 15 over. Bizarre when you consider my very first Medal score back in the early 70's got me a cut from 18 to 14, which I guess means I shot somewhere in the 80's.

Recently shot two of the worst rounds in a very long time! I play off 9 but had a 97 gross and an NR after a 12 on the first!

Been trying to practise a bit to iron out a couple of bad habits as I have a singles KO match on Sat and then playing with Crossfield, Lockey and Yourgolftravel on Tues at Centurion! Hope I don't embarrass myself too much.... will be a laugh whatever!

odd game mate!
about 3 weeks ago i shot a 95 playing some of the worst stuff going.
last weekend i shot a 79 playing the best stuff i've played in many moons!

Shot 105 over the May Day weekend. Went out 2 days later and shot 75!! Good job I can just laugh off the bad rounds. Got used to them over the years

97-net 85 flat out and actually still caring and trying. Someone ask about worst front nine and ask Ads749r. Would love to see the game golf map from last weekend. Not my mates finest hour!
The game golf ran out of power I was all over the place. I was +22 for the first nine holes, used my 11 shots by hole 4. By hole 17 I was +29 then spanked one oob and sliced my second right into rough which a little look (on my own I must add) and couldn't find it so nr on that hole but then birdied the 18th to make me want to come back next week. I only hit one bad shot too hahaha

Not surprised the game golf ran out of juice recording all those shots and trying to locate your ball on the GPS. Did see you rummaging on your own. What happened on the first four holes then?
