Yesterday I had an absolute nightmare and scored 107-10-97, 28 shots over SSS.

It started on the first when I took 6 to get down after being 5 yards off the green in 2, the high (or low) point was an 11 on the 9th and was mostly a disaster all round.

So has anyone else had any nightmare medal rounds they would like to admit.

I shot 101 playing off 5 once. I actually sold my clubs on Plymouth station after that and had a 2 year break.

100 last year. A classic case of being out of it by the turn, then not caring about lining up putts etc on the way in. Laughed it off quickly- it's only a game.

Started in August, began with a couple of 136's!! just creeping under 100 now on the very odd occasion! Handicap is 27(probably says it all! :) )

Was playing off around 19/20 at the time and carded a 116..... I remember one particular shot on the 15th where I just didn't know how to hold the club anymore and just had to laugh at myself. Think I got 0.1 back that week

Well I can't remember my junior nightmares, but played my first medal on Saturday. Was (net) level after 9. Nearest to the pin on the long 10th and as soon as I properly went for that my round fell apart, was knocking things out of bounds, taking on drives that I didn't need to take on, lost about 6 balls on the back nine and ended up 11 over net. I considered that a nightmare especially after starting so well despite a lot of nerves.

104 was my gross score.

Few years ago, off 8, I shot 99 in the first round of my first attempt at the Scottish ladies. Was very tough conditions but most players coped better than me and I was quite embarrassed about it. Was a battle to break 100 over the closing holes so a (very) small victory. Even the 88 I had in the second round was poor but a marked improvement!

Learned that my typical ball flight at the time (high fade) just wasn't viable on a windy links so made a big effort to improve my ball striking and shot shape. That was a huge benefit to my game so it was probably a blessing in disguise.

I know I've never been the wrong side of 100 in competition so probably a mid 90s...
Worst in 10 years was last week - 91...

I've put up 199 in a 36 hole junior open, think I was off 13 at the time. Last comp was pretty rubbish as well, think with clause 19 my NR would have been 95 but it was worse than that, probably 98 had i gone and replayed the shots where i lost balls

My worst medal round in recent times was 100 playing off 14, which was a nett 86. I didn't do much better in a medal last Sunday, when I scored 96 - 13 = 83! :(

102 White tees Hotchkin,

Had a great day 2 pars, a 10 and several triples. Walked off and said I wont play comps from the white tees again until I can carry the ball more than 50 yards in the air :D
