What's the worst behaviour you've ever seen at a golf club?

JustOne and Bratty's behaviour for all 36 holes at Cooden Beach last year was generally appalling, ungentlemanly and unsporting. Some of it was even slanderous........however loved every minute of it!!!! :D :D

Worse thing I ever saw was a very disgruntled member taking a - ahem 'movement' - on the bonnet of a fellow members car! To be fair the owner of said vehicle wasn't a nice chap and was a known cheat who seemed to do very well in competitions!

he hadn't made any mention of it on his card and he was allowed to get away with it.
How can you be "allowed" to get away with cheating?? So they knew he was in the wrong but decided to ignore it? Ridiculous.

Exactly my point. I can remember another situation where one of the juniors picked up a two shot penalty for practising on the green before it was his putt. The captain, who was mates with the kid's father, told him "don't worry, we wouldn't have enforced it if it had affected the result".

This place is the absolute pits for behaviour by the committee and no-one ever does anything about it.

Begs the question why play and be a member there

I have played with a guy for the last 3 tourneys, and i am with him for the club champs tommorow! :p
He is an angry golfer, very angry! Last round he hit a bad tee shot with his 3 wood, and took it out on his innocent bag... Snapped it clean in half.! Needless to say i reported him to the club pro for bag and club abuse !

Spot on Beddy. That's why I went to Pyrford four years ago. I played last weekend in their club championships as a past champion having been convinced things had changed. They had - they were even worse.

The place has the nickname "MCC" round all the local clubs and Surrey Golf Union. Muppets, Chavs and Cheats.

But I must point out this is just the actual club, nothing to do with the Crown Golf at Sunbury facility. The latter is fine, it's just the yobbos who call themselves a club based there that is the problem.

Sooner rather than later they will screw up and the SGU will ban them all.

At Silvermere we were being hassled from behind by a set of hackers. One of our group wasn't at all happy; after we finished the hole, he located a massive goose turd and left it in the hole for them.... :D

Last week I saw one of our gentlemen members playing the course whilst accompanied by his Missus (who was not playing). This was quite late (after 8). She was dressed up to the 9's and obviously ready for a night out. I can only assume that he had told her they were going out for the night, then turned up at the course for a twilight 18. The most annoying thing is that she looked quite happy to be there.

annoying in the 'why can't all women be so happily compliant' way I take it?

Or in the "why is she so downtrodden and put upon by her misogynistic partner that a walk round the golf course in her best evening wear constitutes a nice night out" or wot you said.

I witnessed a long standing member (of the club, and the "Clique")improving his lie.I was in a fourball walking along the adjoining fairway, and seen him knocking his ball away from the tree it was resting against, whilst the other members of his fourball were 40 yards away on the other side of the fairway.
This was a man who'd suggested to his friends in the bar, that people with Tattoo's (like myself) should have the decency to where a sweater to cover them whilst on the course or in the clubhouse,as other members may find them offensive!!!!!!!

could be worse - at least he let her out of the kitchen instead of making her stay there and scrub his clubs when he got back

Proper :D

Maybe he made her clean his shaft on the way round? The course was fairly empty at that time. Hole in one? Back door birdie? etc etc etc

I forgot to "stop" my trolley the other day.

I went off on a tangent to find my ball, found it in some deep-ish grass, turned round to see my trolley the other side of the green.....I think it might have even mowed down the flagstick. :D :D :D

Whoops.

None of the other 3 witnessed it either......what the hell were we doing?

Someone at our course hit 2 OOB on the first tee in our monthly medal. Threw their scorecard into the adjacent pond which was shortly followed by his putter. Not very good when your with the club president... :/

I've seen a few couples expressing their love au naturel at Wimbledon Common over the years and one of our lady members, built for comfort got drunk at a club social and took one of male guests for a late evening bout of tongue tonsils out on the course

apart from the visitor i saw driving his buggy over the 18th green a few weeks ago the next worst behaviour was at a solicitors society day after lunch at a very posh club, seeing a three ball collect a few bottles of wine for sustainance on the afternoons round. the clubs patience finnaly ran out when the two guys were seen holding the woman upside dowm over a green while she plucked her ball out of the hole!!
