True to a certain extent Imurg but it's a bit horses for courses imo, Dunbar where I play has 4 par 4's on the back 9 between 432 and 460 yards that generally play into the prevailing west wind, fairly often needs a well struck 3 wood to have any chance of reaching in 2, don't know if I could do so with a 4 wood (but have never tried it so who knows !)Driver
4 wood between 16 and 17 ° depending on how I feel..
19 hybrid
22 hybrid but sometimes 23
26 hybrid or 5 iron
Irons and wedges and a putter..
I've been convinced for years that most amateurs shouldn't have a "proper" 3 wood in the bag as a 4 goes roughly the same distance on a better trajectory and is easier to use.
