I am interested to know what the BRitish weather does to our enthusiam to throw the clubs inthe boot and hike to the course. I was practicing early this morning with a) a biting wind and b) 2 degree temperatures. After 15 balls I had enough and moved to a proteced green where I worked on 200 chips and pitches to a green with a variety of flags on. But it got me thinkning???

When the course is open it's only serious driving rain that'll keep me off if I've planned a round.
If I start waiting for decent weather I'll never get out there.

If your name is down for a comp or you have travelled to play a new course you play it whatever the weather. I think most people would do that.

If you are asking what weather would you be prepared to just practice golf in I would play in light rain and cold ok, if its tipping down or blowing a hurrican then I'd likely pass.

If I have a match I've signed up for I play no matter what the weather.

By choice I'd only play in warm, still & dry conditions but how often do you get those in sunny Derbyshire?

The thing I hate most however is windy conditions. I hit the ball a bit too high (been working on that with the pro), so when I play in the wind it can be terrible.
God knows how I'd cope on the seaside links courses some of you guys are members of :(

If its a comp then it doesnt matter what the weather is.

If its sheeting down and its only a friendly then i'll probably give it a miss

I dont like the wind+rain combination however if its a medal I#ll usually still play.

Also depends on the strength of the wind TBH.

As I am not in control of the weather if my names down I will play in anything, but out of choice I will play in everything except the wet and windy combination.

Sunny, warm, no wind for me.
I'll take a little breeze but if it's blowing a gale that will get me off a course quicker than rain.
Didn't used to mind playing in the rain but since I've had to start wearing glasses it's not nice.

i dont wind as long is its not the last option, cannot abide our fine scottish rain, with a luvly gentle hurricane rattling in from the north/east.....yeuch! mind you would be glad just to get a game at ALL just now! roll on sat 1052........its like xmas all over again!
