TV Series - What Are You Watching?

One to look out for. I spent half the show looking at a character trying to see where I recognised him from. Cracked in the end, had to Google him. One of the leads from Annika, policeman with the luxurious hair, is in it with his hair cut short 😯. I feel he went too far to get that role. That quality of hair should not be sacrificed šŸ˜†
I had recognised he was going to be in from the opening credits, bit of a shock to see him like that.

Watched the last ever episode of Breeders last night. I've been delaying that moment...
I watched the first couple of S1 but something got in the way and I didn’t reconnect…but friend says we should watch from the start - and as a couple.

We started watching Bodies but my Mrs has really struggled to get into it, so thinking we’ll abandon that as joint viewing and pick up Succession where we left off (somewhere in S2). I was ok with Bodies so think I’ll solo it - maybe while my Mrs is watching Strictly (I just can’t be bothered watching it these days)

My wife complains that this program is no good for the wrinkles on her forehead šŸ˜†

We only have one episode left so I’m hoping it wraps up nicely šŸ¤žšŸ»

I thought it was unbelievable tonight on The Chase, a clever 30-year-old contestant lost out because he didn't know the answer to an easy Only Fools and Horses question.
Then my wife admits she has never watched it either.

To be fair, if you were 30 years old, you would have only been born in 1993 and would not really have had any interest in adult TV programmes until the 2000s. It is thus actually pretty reasonable that the person had not watched a sitcom that was big over a decade previous.

It's still repeated all the time though. Hard to believe that anyone hasn't watched it really. Similar to Friends.

I'm interested now, wonder what the question was?

I have never watched Friends and I was around when it was on TV.

This would be like me watching 60s sitcoms when I was younger and whilst I was aware that some classics existed, I never recall actually watching them.

I guess i just feel that it is somewhat presumptuous assuming that a much younger generation should have gone back and watched TV shows that were deemed classics in my era.

I've seen all of Only Fools and I'm only 37. I think the last few Christmas specials and whatnot were still being released when I was young. Even if you've not seen it, it permeates the consciousness a certain amount. This is why I'm wondering what the question was. If it was something like 'who plays Del Boy' you'd have a decent chance of answering it even if you'd never watched it, as it's well known who starred in such an iconic show.

Ditto...

Having had a quick check on google, the actual show only ran until 1991 on a regular basis with 16 sporadic Xmas specials running up to 2003. That sort of surprised me as I would have sworn that it had run until later in the 1990s.

With that in mind and a 30 year old possibly being only 10 when the last of it aired, it would not seem inconceivable not to have any real idea about it. By the time that you reach an age of streaming retro TV or watching re-runs, it was pretty much out of the public conscious.

It is interesting to start seeing generational gaps in TV viewing like this.
