TV Series - What Are You Watching?

Anyone watching Hacks on Sky? It's a comedy about an ageing female comic in Vegas. She gets pushed into accepting a young comedy writer to reinvigorate her act.

My wife didn't find it funny, I'm quite enjoying it. It isn't a flat out comedy, it's quite thoughtful at times.
I've watched it before and enjoyed it.

Late to the party but finished Series 1 of Traitors and on to Series 2. There are some people in society who really need a slap if this was a micrcocosm. But typical BBC, making sure they tick every ethnic, minority and sexual box. Great idea for a show though and the tactics and comments are magnificent at times.
Nothing wrong (indeed everything right) with having the contestants representative of all 'sectors' of UK society - seems bang on the right thing to do if you want to attract the widest audience.

Two Men on a Bike. Pleasant enough watch but makes me appreciate Gone Fishing and their relationship all the more.
There's a plethora of this type of show now "Celebs" with guests or friends, father and son etc., all "getting in touch" with the countryside and themselves. Robson Green, Bill Bailey and countless others.
But, as you say, after 7 years, Bob and Paul have nailed it and are so genuine.
I sometimes feel Im eavesdropping rather than observing "Celebs" whose agent has rung them up and said "Guess what I've bagged you?"

Thing is as well - they weren't individually that funny. Bob and Paul have me in stitches. I still literally cry at the pickled onions for eyes scene.

I thought Whitehouse was extremely funny in The Fast Show and Mortimer equally with Reeves and Mortimer and, of course, WILTY.
But together they've transcended the surreal humour and bring us personal reflections on life after experiencing serious issues. I say that but I sit there laughing aloud at their off the cuff riffs and silliness.

Back in the late 90s, I was editor of an American Football magazine and we did a whole bunch of spoof pictures and gags turning all the Fast Show characters into American Football references. "Guy throws the ball, brilliant, another guy catches it, brilliant. And then we won the Super Bowl... which was nice". Totally ignored copyright of course. A week after that issue came out, we got a letter from Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson saying they would normally have sued us but they were laughing their socks off at it and signed the letter "BRILLIANT" - great touch from a great comedian.

Predictable reply, I know, but, brilliant!
👍

Watched the first episode of Lockerbie last night, just wow, if the next 4 episodes are even half as good….
They are.
Some thought provoking issues, if true.
Given the reluctance of the US and UK to release any official papers or independent inquiry, the issues raised by Jim Swire may well be real. He just wanted the truth.

Is Yellowstone a version of Succession in Montana?
No, not really although there are siblings who will in due course have a legacy. In Yellowstone it is not really a fair or emphasised fight, in Succession none of the siblings fight fair but they all fight hard however none of them deserve any legacy.
