TV Series - What Are You Watching?

I've been meaning for us to do it for some time...but eventually this evening we sat down and watched Ep 1 S1 of Yellowstone - and it lived up to what I've heard - how very excellent. And the scenery...wow. Almost makes me want to visit the US. We will most definitely watch on.
I would thoroughly recommend watching 1883 as it is the origin story of Yellowstone. It won’t make you hanker for visiting the US as it was 150 years ago, but it is great, powerful TV.

Watch as a prequel - or good too watch after Yellowstone...?
It is not necessary for the plot or characters to see it first but it certainly shows why the land is so precious to the family and why they fiercely defend the ranch.
I would have liked to have watched it first but it wasn’t out when I watched the first season of Yellowstone.
Personally out of the 3 (1883, 1923 and Yellowstone), 1883 is the one that remains with me and is up there with some of the best TV I’ve seen. For completeness 1923 is a distant 3rd for me.

Finished Loudermilk last night. Disappointingly it wasn't actually a proper ending, it seems to be leading to another series which hasn't yet arrived in four years. Reading online it seems like it might not happen. Real shame as it was a superb series! Loved the characters, great acting performances (especially from the chap playing Mugsy). They had a funny knack of making very off-the-wall situations seem quite normal.

Late to the party but finished Series 1 of Traitors and on to Series 2. There are some people in society who really need a slap if this was a micrcocosm. But typical BBC, making sure they tick every ethnic, minority and sexual box. Great idea for a show though and the tactics and comments are magnificent at times.

Anyone watching Hacks on Sky? It's a comedy about an ageing female comic in Vegas. She gets pushed into accepting a young comedy writer to reinvigorate her act.

My wife didn't find it funny, I'm quite enjoying it. It isn't a flat out comedy, it's quite thoughtful at times.

We are. Getting towards the end of season 1. I think its really good, not full of jokes but some really dry lines and oddly engaging characters.

It's consistently getting big awards 48 Emmy nominations and 9 wins - 8.2 on imdv and 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, surprising its not really heard of over here.

It's in my planner to start :-)

We finished Unforgotten last night, decent enough. Then started Virdee on the iplayer, bit cliched so far but we'll stick with it.

Binned Virdee after Ep 1. As you say - cliched.

Finished Big Boys. Sad. Both the final episode and the fact it's the final episode
