I was given this today by a fella at the club.

I've used it before and said I like the roll.

I quite fancy giving it a go. I suppose it's legal, but I'm not 100%

Is it & would you??

It'll certainly focus your mind on getting a centred strike.

As to legality, I'm not aware of a minimum limit on the length of a clubhead, didn't there used to be a club for hitting out of tractor ruts?

The limitation I know of is that the toe to heel distance must equal to, or greater than, the face to back distance. So it's likely the stubby is legal.

I have a Rife IMO trainer, and I know it's illegal for that reason.

I would say it looks good for practice as it will help with squaring the putter head at impact
if that's how you putt.
I suppose then you would have to have a putter the same but longer.

Hard to tell from the pictures but may fall down on the following.

When the clubhead is in its normal address position, the dimensions of the head must be such that:
the distance from the heel to the toe is greater than the distance from the face to the back;

Edit: whoops to slow.

No sure if it's this one but,

This putter is properly offered as a training aid since it does not comply with equipment requirements for competition matches. The idea is to teach one how to strike the ball in the "sweet spot" of the putter and I find it helpful. A good addition to my bag of training aids.

I've just measured it, pretty sad I know!!

It's 46mm heel to toe, 42mm face to back

Could be going in the bag!!

The rules are pretty clear on what makes a compliant putter.

From the pictures of the putter it would appear that heal to toe of face = heal to toe of club head so for this A=B

If A = 46mm and C= 42mm then the condition that A>C is met.

A ≤ 7" = YES.

2/3 of C = 28mm therefore B is ≥ 2/3C

B=A so is ≥1/2 A

The only measurement left to check in D which I would doubt is greater than 2.5"

So it would appear that this is a compliant head.

Was trying to be helpful nothing more, nothing less.

Looks good mate, I'd put it in the bag. Would probably have to turn it into a belly or arm lock putter after a little bit, keep that in mind if you get a rocky patch with it.

Are you volunteering to do the work?? I seem to remember that white Taylor made was work in progress. Had you been drinking when you assembled it??
