Hi Guys,

My wife and I are 26 and my wife really wants to find a club that has some lady members of our own age.

does anyone know of any clubs in Devon or Cornwall that have lady members in there 20s that play regularly in competitions and team events?

Gutted that I don't life anywhere near Devon or Cornwall - I'd have happily offered to make up a threesome!! ;-)

Seriously though, have you looked to see if there are any golf academies local to you. I have joined a course that's based at an agricultural college so loads of youngsters at the course. The pros offer teaching from the age of about 6. Might be worth a try. A quick google found me this place:

You all just couldn't resist :)

St mellion is mega expensive. I have rung a lot of places and they all say we have a good spread because they just want the members. I was hoping someone had some experience ;)
 
OK - u need to do a bit of detective work!
Had a look on HDID for you
Elfordleigh and Chinafleet - hardly any ladies playing - between 2 and 6 seem to turn up for medals/ comps - so those would be a no

St Melion - no ladies comps - its mixed ladies and gents - but if too expensive...then its a no

Bigbury - seems to be mixed comps

Thurlestone - loads of ladies playing comps

if you have any other clubs nearby then i can have a wee sneaky peek for you!! ;)

Well if the OP tells me which clubs, i can tell him if there are ladies playing and which day they play, then the OP just needs to drive past the golf course and decide if they are aged 18-30 or not! simples ;)

I didn't think to look at HDID where did you find that info? Me and my wife are members of elfordleigh I guarantee she is always one of the 3 to 5 that turn up :).

How about:

Boringdon Park
Dainton Park
Tavistock
Yelverton
Bigbury

there are quite a few I could check :)

Hello there OP - on HDID go to the top tabs - there is one called clubs, choose ladies in the drop down and then search for the clubs in the alpha directory. Once you get a club, there are choices down the left hand side - choose competitions and click on a few of them to see who has played.
then check your calendar and it'll give you a clue as to which day they normally play!
Not all clubs are on HDID tho
finally, send therod round to each club to give you an idea of their ages!

Can recommend Thurlestone,great links course,though don't know if there will be a young ladies section.
