Surprisingly I can accept, yellow balls, leccy trollies, black gloves

Ignorant feckers who talk loud behind you on the tee box whilst your teeing off, bad etiquette, not replacing divots, slow players and the PC brigade.

:D

my list...
-On a blind hole you crack a drive that lands about 50yards away from the group ahead yet the group tries to convince you that was so close to hitting them. At least could they say say good shot?!?! :D
-Adults who complain about juniors
-Most women in their fifties playing golf (the majority are extremely annoying)
-High handicappers using a "pro's" clubs or using clubs that dont suit them
- players who use all pings, taylormades etc. in their bag...even when it doesn't suit them
-high handicappers thinking they know a lot about golf
-People who spend hours talking just before each shot

Writing this just makes me feel really annoyed! :D

People who have been a member of your club for 300 years and think that they actually own it.. and yellow balls, novelty head covers, shorts etc Natch :)

My main gripe EVER in golf is quite simply people who don't call other players through, regardless of whether or not they are going to "get anywhere" afterwards.

Unfortunately the biggest culprits are miserable old men who can barely hit the ball beyond their eyesight distance.

Second is bad greens, and even more so on established courses. You'd think they could get them nice after 100 years of working on them!

Cracking a drive down the middle of a blind hole and not being able to find it because its taken an almighty kick and its in the rough somwhere.
Weather that can't make up its mind - look, either rain or snow or stay dry not change around every 5 minutes!

Get over the other peoples equipment thing. Why would this bother anyone?
I agree with the lack of repairing pitchmarks etc... but novelty head covers, covers on irons... let them be.

This has been a very entertaining thread, ok its my turn!

Not repairing pichmarks and complaining that the green bobbled

Not raking bunkers

Not replacing divots

Fat block leaning on the putter leaving a big indentation in the green.

Young lads with remote control trolleys, that’s just lazy!

Old members with remote control trolleys, especially when I have to pull them out of the ponds, happened 4 times last year.

Remote control trolleys in general… boys and toys

Removing the ball out of the hole… with a putter.

Golfers with massive drives and no course management sense, they drive 300yds into the bunker / pond / rough etc and then complain at the ‘unfair’ positioning… use your brain and don’t hit it so far, simple!

Committee members, those failed businessmen who then are experts in course preparation and maintenance.

Members, who want to get on committee for there own agenda.

The Augusta syndrome! Those who expect Augusta standards in March, after a hard winter and with small budgets

Ahhhhh I feel better now thanks

Golfers that spend their whole life complaining about what's wrong with their course. If they don't like it go and join somewhere else.

One that amazed me on the forum was someone who was looking to move courses as their current one was too short & easy.

I think he had a 17 handicap :p

I can see that, tbh. My local course is short and easy enough that if I played to my potential I'd get a h/c of 14 or 15 quite easily. However I stuggle to play to 18 on any decent course, so I'd be in all sorts of trouble playing away, as it were.

So I don't join. Well that, and the lack of funds, and time, I suppose.

People who eat with their mouths open. I can't bloody stand it. Chomp, chomp, chomp. It drives me mad. Keep yer mouth shut when you eat, I don't want to see it going around and around in there like a bloody cememt mixer...

And did I mention the chomping noise

. Poor & bad etiquette
. 4 balls that won't let anyone through, no matter what......
. 3 balls that won't let anyone through, no matter what......
. 2 balls that won't let anyone through, no matter what......
. Anyone who won't let others that they're holding up through (get the idea!) - slow players in general
. Golfers that moan about anything and everything
. The "click" at the golf club - I'm sure we've all got them.
. People that moan about - wearing of shorts, chippers, yellow balls, players with the all latest gear, juniors, seniors, new golfers etc. etc. - why, if it works for them, doesn't break any rules then let it be and concentrate on your own game.

Well I feel better for that rant, now for the replies!

What is the problem people have with cliques??

If you are so concerned about said clique then is it because you are jealous of not being part of it?? If you were allowed into it you would then be disliked as part of that clique.

If you don't like the people in the clique then let them be, it's not as though you are missing out on anything you want to be part of is it??

There's more important things to worry about, like folk who wear trousers that are obviously too short for them. Put some jam on your shoes and invite your turn ups down for tea. :D
