Mateta is stood upright and needs 25 stitches around his ear due to the keepers boot. I think that is pretty close to assault. He's completely out of control and reckless.

Totally agree about the reaction of the Millwall fans. Not a lot you can say about them that's positive with incidents like that. A million miles away from rivalry or banter.
It's not really is it. Its unfortunate he's been caught and he's needed medical attention but for me it was a genuine attempt to play the ball albeit dangerous.

Dangerous play, yes, Assault, definitely not.

Not seen the assault but if memory serves me right Ederson was faking his injury according to some.

That said. Some of the play acting/ head injuries during last night purgatory Panathanikos game was pathetic to see.
Sales of paracetamol must of gone through the roof after last night game with the headaches caused by head injuries.
Plus the abuse of the referee was at an astonishing level.
Panathanikos have a couple
Of centre halves who are very very good. Read the game very well.

It’s a bad tackle , clear red , not deliberate

It’s really poor that Oliver did nothing until VAR stepped in and it was right in front of him

That looks sore, who is it?

Mateta shoulder barged the defender off the ball, which ironically then put him in the way of the keeper, who clearly went for the ball. He took the ball cleanly and it was only after he caught Mateta, who was in a weird position after his barge. Tough luck and definitely no assualt. The game has gone if we're giving reds for that after a few minutes as it ruined a potentially good cup tie.
Shoulder to shoulder is not a foul - and how come you want a foul for that but try to play down the keeper’s actions? Can’t have it both ways.

Is isak better than haaland?

Reminds me of the days of RVN and Henry both being in the league .. with isak being more Henry and haaland more rvn

Or frightened to make a genuine call in fear of getting it wrong?

Maybe. But they shouldn’t be. Surely they should be embracing the fact that the technology is available to help them correct any mistakes.

I’d rather see a referee make the wrong call and for VAR to help them correct it, than see them shy away from doing what they are paid for and making decisions in the first place.
