It was a brave call to go for RVN - especially when you had people like Moyes available to step in maybe help out

Or maybe they made a call looking beyond the season and looking to rebuild with him next season in the championship
Problem with the latter scenario is that they could be facing penalties for breaches of EFL P&S Rules if they return to the Championship.

The guy in front of me checking into the hotel was a Liverpool fan, talk about having a massive sense of entitlement 🤣 Not one word about how excellent Newcastle were just how they should have won blah blah. He was still bleating on for a good minute or two after he was handed his room key, totally oblivious to the queue behind him 🤣

This is the issue with them. The entitlement is off the charts for the Micky's. As all teams they have some good fans. Unfortunately due to their success pre premier league a generation of entitled glory hunters who then couldn't handle things not going their way.

If he thinks Liverpool should have won he’s deluded.

So Utd have season tickets put up by 5% which surely is not a surprise. What is a surprise is that Utd now want more for Rashford as he is back to the player he once was. Wonder If they would of lowered the price if he continued to be rammel.

If you were Villa, assuming they are genuinely interested, you would ship him back at the end of the season and see if Utd blink. See if Utd want to pay someone £300k a week for sitting in the stands. It's a game of bluff at this point and I'm not sure Utd have too strong a hand. Plenty of other players out there.

They have a history of being stubborn over transfers though

We loaned lingard and let's be honest the fit was perfect. We kept trying to get him back following year but they wanted more and more money so we moved onto other targets and he left for free the next year

Is that a surprise? Player plays poorly, their value go down. Player plays well, their value goes up. Unless Man Utd had already agreed a value before he put on a Villa shirt?

I suspect Villa will be ok to let him rot at United if they up the price etc

season ticket price rises haven’t gone down well

And that is the key to it. It will be interesting to see if the new regime are as happy to waste an asset. Villa will have alternatives, no issues there. I can't see any other club matching the deal he currently has so Utd are going to have to suck it up to an extent.

They tried the same with Maguire. Manager stripped him of captaincy and told him to find another club. We had deal agreed they got tight on not honouring his new contract .. sorry you make a contract he has a right to it .. you pay him off if you want him gone. Deal falls apart. Luckily for them he is a very very professional footballer and just got on with it.

Sometimes you just have to cut a loss
