Mr Cantona seems very vocal about it - lack of respect from the club , should be able to do what he wants at the club because of what he has done

I’ll put that down to his fiery temperament!

I agree United are where they are because of Fergie. But equally they need to move on from him. And he has more than earned his retirement.

I hope he enjoys it.

No thanks to Howe or Potter, nice guys, but their only qualification for England Manager is that they are English! Even Dyche has a better managerial record than Potter and possibly Howe, but I don’t want him either.

Ignore Nationality and give it to the best man for the job, sadly with some of the better ones unavailable I’d go for Tuchel.😩

I’d even have Roy Keane before the three English ones above.🙄
WOW 😂😂😂😂

Love Keane as a pundit, but seriously WOW 😮😮😮😂😂😂😂

Believe he is a global ambassador so travels all around the world for them - corporate events etc

To sack him to save costs imo is shocking , even more so when you think of the amount of rubbish they have getting paid a lot more

I remember when FSG treated Kenny a bit poorly , it didn’t take long for them to regret it and bring him back
I’d take anything the media says with a pinch of salt.
Just because you want to believe it,doesn’t make it true.
Old man retires doesn’t have the same effect I suppose 🤷‍♂️

Sacked? Or a mutual agreement?

Ferguson is 82 years of age, has suffered a stroke which seems to have had a significant impact on his health, and has lost his wife. I feel quite sure that this is a perfectly amicable agreement, and not the sacking that the notoriously unreliable Daily Mail would have us believe.

Would he rather continue to fly round the world on club business, for financial reward he patently doesn’t need, or start to take things a little easier? I think I can hazard a guess.

Move along now. Nothing to see………
Very diplomatically put. No doubt had they continued to pay him £2million a year, people would be screaming they should get him off the pay roll and keep more of the everyday workers at the club who are being let go.

Nowhere did I see it say he was sacked. Either:

- The club fee it is a role that no longer needs to be done. It is their right to restructure.
- The club feel it is not appropriate to ask an elderly man to commit to all the duties they expect from a highly paid ambassador.
- Sir Alex himself doesn't want to commit to all the responsibilities he had in that role

Or a bit of all the above, thus they amicably reached the decision. Sir Alex will not be going hungry with the loss in income. He'll be welcome with open arms around the club anytime he wants to watch games or have a chat. Not like he has been banished.

So, what's the problem people are seeing here?

There is a history of German managers helping underdeveloped football nations. Schäfer in Ghana, Sidkar in Qatar, … were the early ones. Vogts in Scotland & Kliensmann in the USA might be the ones known here. Now we got to level up England ;-)

Honestly, I think some English manager must be good enough. You don’t need to teach the players how to stop a ball or to head one, it’s just some tactics and a lot of motivation.
A great football nation like England should have plenty of people that are good at it (not the thousands in the stands who think they are, btw)

Gutted about the Tuchel news. A horrible, creepy man who makes my skin crawl. Very overrated for a manager who's won only one notable trophy with a team he inherited. Very disappointing.

Plus...he's German?!

Our neighbour is German. Puts his German shirt on when he's going out somewhere nice with his wife. He will be preaching about footie managers now along with VW, Mercedes, Bosch, Karcher etc etc!

When England next win a major tournament, the manager will become a legend. Just imagining a German becoming the hero of English football.

Sir Thomas Tuchel
