No thanks to Howe or Potter, nice guys, but their only qualification for England Manager is that they are English! Even Dyche has a better managerial record than Potter and possibly Howe, but I don’t want him either.

Ignore Nationality and give it to the best man for the job, sadly with some of the better ones unavailable I’d go for Tuchel.😩

I’d even have Roy Keane before the three English ones above.🙄
It's early to be drinking that heavily 😂

I would, at least he’s played and won at nearly all levels.

The Howe/Potter yarn is purely down to the media. It would be great for the future if Howe was succesful, but Potter! Please, he was the media darling. One good/average season at Brighton.

But he is a bloody awful manager.

Might aswell get Gary Neville in by that theory.

Tuchel would be a decent choice, but it would be a huge departure by the FA from their historic tendency to appoint the safe pair of hands.

Isn’t Tuchel just a bit too controversial for the English FA?

Keane, Won promotion with Sunderland to the PL. RoI assistant manager

Neville, 4 Yrs assistant manager with England.

Potter, Brighton played well 1 season.

So actually yes, I would rather have either of them than Potter.

Or even Harry rather than Graham.

I'd imagine Roy Keane would have zero interest in the England job anyway, seems a proud Irish man.

Just had a look at the Betfair odds, Keane isn't even on their list of 46. But, they do have:

Gerrard 50/1 (how is he doing in Saudi Arabia)
Wiegman 50/1
Pochettino 66/1 (he has literally only just taken the USA job)
Dean Smith 66/1
Will Still 66/1
Solskjaer 66/1
Roy Hodgson 80/1 (that would be funny)
Beckham 125/1 (lacks a touch of experience...)
Michael Owen 250/1 (like Beckham)
Rio Ferdinand 250/1 (like Beckham)

Seems the only genuine contenders are:

Tuchel 1/3
Guardiola 3/1
Howe 12/1
Carsley 12/1
Potter 14/1

Next after Potter is Lampard (50/1), so probably not a lot of point in reading after Potter

Maybe it's all about averages. They've had Mr Vanilla in Southgate for quite a few years. So, I think they are now ready to get naughty for a few years?

Howe got promoted to championship and premier league so how is Keane better?

Are you having difficulty following your own posts?

I didn’t mention Howe in the immediate post you’ve questioned!

In the one previous I said I’d prefer Howe to get more experience for the future and right now I’d take Keane over both of them, purely on the level of Football he’s been involved in.

Which makes no sense when you say Keane's record is better than Howes. It's not.

Keane was a terrible manager. It's why he hasn't got near a club for a long time.

Potter is a good manager, but needs to get back to club management first.

Ferguson demands huge respect for his service but £2m a year for hanging around like the ghost of christmas past...bloody madness!
Believe he is a global ambassador so travels all around the world for them - corporate events etc

To sack him to save costs imo is shocking , even more so when you think of the amount of rubbish they have getting paid a lot more

I remember when FSG treated Kenny a bit poorly , it didn’t take long for them to regret it and bring him back

I answered @Lord Tyrion “tongue in cheek” (see emoji’s) after he questioned what I said, i clarified to him I would like Howe to get some success with Newcastle first as I think it’s too early for him. (He has very little experience at either or European or World level.

At no time, please check my posts, did I directly compare Keane to Howe’s managerial record, I compared Keane’s & Neville’s to Potter’s.

You rate Potter, I don’t! If he’s that good why has he been out of job for so long now?

He is waiting for the right job by the looks of it.

He turned down Ajax

After Chelsea giving him enough money to live off he can be picky and make his next move one where he can build what he wants

What are Man Utd’s fans feelings on this

Sacked? Or a mutual agreement?

Ferguson is 82 years of age, has suffered a stroke which seems to have had a significant impact on his health, and has lost his wife. I feel quite sure that this is a perfectly amicable agreement, and not the sacking that the notoriously unreliable Daily Mail would have us believe.

Would he rather continue to fly round the world on club business, for financial reward he patently doesn’t need, or start to take things a little easier? I think I can hazard a guess.

Move along now. Nothing to see………

Mr Cantona seems very vocal about it - lack of respect from the club , should be able to do what he wants at the club because of what he has done

Man Utd are were they are because of him
