Tuchel is being touted for every job that comes up right now. No idea if there is truth in this or not but he can't do all 14 jobs he is currently being linked with (this may be a slight exaggeration)

Personally, I'd like to see an English manager take the job, I think we have enough options here.

Decent pedigree, one of the only available big names in football.

For me - I want the best coach possible, I don't care about nationality but would need to have managed in this country at the very least.

We have been down that road before, twice, and it didn't do anything for the England teams of the time. I'm happy to take Potter still, or Howe.

He did an okay job but flat lined when we got to the business end of things. The team had some top players in it but that era had no memorable tournaments as far as I can remember.

But then look at the English’s managers that have been given it

They should be going for the best available regardless of nationality

Carsley appears to not want the job

I think you might be right, although it is difficult to say. It is almost as if he is sending out mixed signals. Feels like he has tried to take the heat off himself when the media have asked him about wanting the job, and made it sound like he doesn't want it. Then when quizzed again, making it sound like he wasn't trying to say he definitely doesn't want it, he is just focusing on these 6 games.

He probably isn't 100% media savvy yet. But, I don't think he will get it, as his answers have almost given the FA a ticket to look elsewhere. Although it is hard to predict what the FA will do. I can see him winning his next games, and the FA just asking Carsley to do it as that seems the easy / right option to them.

For me, I think Howe would be the best English option, if he wants to do it and they can get him away from Newcastle. Pep is just the dream, but not sure if the FA can do that financially, or if he'd even want to do it.

No thanks to Howe or Potter, nice guys, but their only qualification for England Manager is that they are English! Even Dyche has a better managerial record than Potter and possibly Howe, but I don’t want him either.

Ignore Nationality and give it to the best man for the job, sadly with some of the better ones unavailable I’d go for Tuchel.

I’d even have Roy Keane before the three English ones above.
