The Cricket Thread

Just catching my first action of the T20 WC, and not sure I’ll be watching an awful lot more.

Nothing to do with the cricket itself, but the buffoon stadium announcers who are bellowing into their microphones non-stop. It’s absolutely unbearable.
India is an extremely noisy country. Everywhere you go, people are being loud.

I remember the early T20 World Cups were super-compact affairs. Done and dusted in 2 weeks. Made a great tournament that held your attention throughout and just about every match had meaning. I know more nations is a good thing but his one is starting to feel like a slog already...

It’s not great

Empty stands for most games apart from India

The whole India/Pakistan/Bangladesh issues

The ICC should refuse to hold any events in those countries until they get a grip

But ICC will always bow down to India

Just wait until we get to the football world cup - with all the extra teams this year it will take 5-6 weeks (obviously not as long as that for Scotland :ROFLMAO: )

I liked a few years ago when the lower ranked nations played a pre-world cup tournament just before the proper competition with the winner of each group going on to play in the main competition.
It was full of very tight/interesting games and gave the smaller nations a good stage to showcase their skills against similar teams.

but that would stop Zimbabwe knocking out Aus... I think this format is worth the entertainemnt.. US taking down Aus, Nepal scaring Eng etc... I am assuming the TV audience on this beats the crowds.

It would do if Zimbabwe qualified to play in the finals.
This time round it does seem a bit too long for me.
I’m still thoroughly enjoying it may I add.
