The Cricket Thread

The coverage is dreadful, only half of them are in Australia. It makes you realise how good Sky are with their coverage. TNT should have just used the host broadcaster. It would be great listening to the Aussie commentary if we win.
Is it not quite common now to have some of the team in the UK, some on site? Keeps costs down, makes it easier for pundits who don't want to be away from their families for long periods of time.

I'm pretty sure it happens in golf as well as cricket, perhaps more than we sometimes realise. I do agree it gives a somewhat iffy commentary experience at times, it isn't ideal.

I saw this on the golf clubs TV. No sound.
At first I thought it might be the Test.
Was elevated to see 6 for 9o something. What a start,
Then I saw the caption AUSTRALIA xxx runs behind!
Oh, this must be highlights of a previous game😀

Then someone told me it was the Test, and England had earlier been bowled out

First day??? Never known that before for a Test.

The whole range of stats for day one are breaking records. Most notably, the negative ones for Steve Smith. Long may those, in particular, continue.

Love seeing England with an attack which hits the deck hard. The decision to pension Jimmy Anderson off all makes sense after that first day which, frankly, took Australia completely by surprise.

They are taking it well

Travis Head playing an absolute blinder. The Aussie's are walking this. England don't seem capable of drying up the runs.

Do both teams have tee times tomorrow? There seems a heck of a rush on all sides to get this over with.

Got up at 6:30 today, switched on TV....all looking good, Atkinson & Carse batting well. England favourites to win.
3 hours later 1-0 down in the series.............crazy, but riveting to watch nonetheless.

Said it previously. The modern England approach is hugely entertaining but there have to be times when we dig in and compile a score. The three middle order wickets which underpinned the collapse were all a result of unnecessary wafts outside off stump.

It is absolutely unforgivable, in a low scoring match, to lose from a position where you have a second innings lead pushing one hundred with nine wickets in hand.

Scathing attack by Sir Geoffrey
Shame Bob Willis isn’t around his verdict show would have been superb viewing
I think players of that generation will always struggle with how England play when they lose in that fashion. Can't say that I disagree with them to be honest, it was a poor example of test match batting imo. Too many players don't value their wickets but that isn't seen as a negative any more 🤪
