The Cricket Thread

Good for him. He's still going to need a surgeon with an advanced medical qualification to extract it from where I'm going to put it.

I put some money on India to win at 5/4 this morning, thought t( odds were quite good. They’re still ok but it may well be quite tense tomorrow.

Been a solid start so far - Crawley getting over the ball a bit more with a straight bat

And Mel Jones is a very good commentator - as are all the lady commentators in cricket - not sure why they get it so right where as others seem to get it very wrong

Whilst I would wholeheartedly agree that Mel Jones is an excellent commentator I do not consider all of the females to be a match for her.

Particularly on the radio, where there are two women I would be happy to never hear commentate again, but also sometimes on Sky TV.

On the latter some commentators of both genders would do well to remember that if they cannot add anything to the picture it would be better to say nothing.

Superb knock from Duckett

Getting close to being one of the best all format batsman
I would like to see a lot more consistency first before putting a 'Best' tag on him. Too many sub 20 scores in Tests, and apart from last ODI against WI, he hasn't been that prolific in white ball games either.

That said, great knock today, just hope the weather plays ball and it isn't in vain.

Was just thinking about this. Been listening to TMS on 5L all afternoon. The female commentators have been the highlight.
The worst commentators I've heard on the radio have been male ex-England captains.

Stunning. Who still thinks Test cricket is dull? Not when England are playing, that’s for sure. Not so many years ago we would have made absolutely no effort to chase that sort of total down in the opening match of a series, if at all.
