England Baby team lose (inevitably) to the Windies last night. How can they justify picking a player who has only played 5 one dayers in the squad. I know you should recognise talent but how can they see talent from 5 matches? When you also add in a captain that has never captained, and many argue is not worth a place in the team anyway then they are on a hiding to nothing on this tour. Will learn nothing

2 wins against Bangladesh for South Africa in the test series over there. I say wins, these were beatings of the kind miscreant kids got at boarding school.

Pick unproven players and this is what happens

England cricket is going backwards across all three formats

It will be a forum visited mainly by people east of Bristol

On account of the internet nor having progressed further west yet? :)

Joking aside, I wonder who Jacob Bethell is going to play for next season - because there is no way he will be allowed back in the Warwickshire changing rooms, the other players will lynch him. By my reckoning, even allowing for the fact Will Rhodes has gone to Durham, there are five other English/English qualified batsmen at the club who had substantially better seasons than him last year, two of whom happen to be very decent keepers as well (pertinent since Jordan Cox, from my recollection, makes Ollie Pope look like the reincarnation of Jimmy Binks) as well as Dan Mousley whose figures were basically the same but who can at least boast of having made a professional hundred.

Jordan Cox must be a bit pee’d off today - only player except the wicketkeeper who hasn’t had a bowl today. Using 9 bowlers shows just how hopeless the captaincy is.

I wonder if he has already realised he is not up to international cricket, maybe just enjoying the ride?

The West Indies tour is only as favour to them for playing back in covid times. You have to rest players, as well as bring new ones in.
Seems to me they're damned if they do and damned if they don't, or do you want India to control cricket completely?
