Out of interest, if I am putting the course on my Skycaddie, is it Goswick Golf Club, as this is the only one which appears in the list.

Hi all

Homer may have mentioned this already but can anyone who has a digital camera take it to Goswick and snap a load of pics

The match will take pride of place in the new forum pages (may issue) so we need some really good ones.

I'd also like to collate all the ones taken (on and off course) and put up a gallery of them on the GM site.

Please send them to golfmonthly@ipcmedia.com

Please make sure these are the unsized raw images (ie dont compress them before sending to us)

cheers

Mike

Looked in at Goswick this afternoon on the way back from a half-term weekend away. There was a fair bit of surface water on the road in and the verges are very soft (believe me on this one !!) there was also a bit of water lying in the carpark.

However, tha course itself looked to have weathered the recent bad weather very well. No lying puddles visible from clubhouse / carpark area. The wind has been kind over the weekend, but it may help to dry things out a wee bit if the wind got up for a day or so before Friday.

I saw enough to get the competitive juices flowing, so I now cant wait 'til Friday.

Here's hoping the weather is kind to us this week and we get a good couple of days golf. For those coming up the A1 from the South, if you take the first signed road for the golf course, don't worry it does get there in the end! Just watch the verges!

I am getting a game either tomorrow or Wed morning so will report on course after that.IM02 played yesterday and the course was back to full strength ie back on the greens no temps.Forecast looking like frost/snow will be no problem at all so all we need to worry about is wind and rain!
I would echo DCB'S comments and add that for those who have not been to the course before once you turn off the A1 from either north or south just keep going for the 1m 3/4 on the small almost single track road as it will reach the destination....once you come to the railway crossing you know you are there!

Mike, do you mean RAW images or simply uncompressed.

My camera will take RAW but they are huge. I can get 1100+, 11 Mb images on a card but only 700 odd RAW.

At that size not sure how easy they will be to send; perhaps your photographic genies can offer some guidance.

Played yesterday and despite the recent weather the course is in good conditon for mid Feb...especially the greens.
Little bit of standing water round 12,13,14 but this lies off the fairways so you shouldn't need your wellies.

there's raw and there's raw! you obviously have a v g camera!

basically what were after is images that haven't been cropped or rescaled for web use. Individual files should be less than 5mb to get through comfortably - if they open up larger in photoshop then great if not then they should still be decent quality

Just back from a quick 9 holes, played the front 9 and no water lying anywhere, course in great nick considering what we had 72 hrs ago, only poor thing I noticed was the amount of divots lying around and unrepaired pitchmarks....due no doubt to the fact that the ground has a whole lot more give in it than usual and the fact that the course was full of old retired farts who are to stiff to bend down and replace/repair divots and pitch marks!!.Looking forward to Friday and forecast don't look too bad at the moment.

Looking forward to it dodger. We are planning to leave Glasgow around 8:30 on Friday; that should leave plenty of time for a bite to eat and a coffee before the big tee off.

Just back in from another session at the range at Kings Acre. I think I've now worked out what my problem has been. I'm standing too near the ball........

After I've hit it !

That's my problem also.
I've now developed a case of the J Arthur's

only played 4 holes in two weeks. Been going to the range but I hate the mats

Tommo, that doesn't frighten me at all, where's the finesse, the timing, the languid swing that hits the ball miles. The face, blimey, that would give me nightmares, but the golf swing, no.

Bring it on.
