The all things EV chat thread

Thanks for the advice, will have a play with the inbuilt sat nav but will probably stick to Waze (just wish you could save favourite locations in it)

If most of the chargers take contactless that will make it easier! I only do 2 or 3 long trips a year at the most anyway so should only really be charging at home.

I can, I assumed that was a standard function.

I have just checked and it does save all destinations by scrolling down and looking through them. The only destinations that can be saved are home and work.

On my old Tom Tom I could save destinations to favourites to make it easier to find them
Have you tried Android Auto? I use that and it definitely has the favourites option. I know people get to like certain systems but it may be worth looking at this as an alternative. Not being able to save to favourites would be a deal breaker for me.

I can recommend people Not buy a BMW EV. .... brilliant car but absolutly poor experience.

They did a software update and now i cant get it to run Waze on carplay (native in car GPS is fine) or support Octopus smart charging. Trying to get any customer support is pathetic to say

One of the annoyances with my car sat nav is that it stores every single address ever used with most recent first when scrolling (same with the previous cars from Peugeot) the only way to get rid of them is a system reset.

First Peugeot I had with it must have been a sales reps car judging by the amount of addresses in the system.

Suggest you don’t save a home address as thieves can use this to visit if they nick your car. They know you are out so can rob an empty house

Only in-built car sat navs. He is talking about Waze which is his phone. Which if stolen can be block and is locked behind a password

Parents have ended up ordering a Kia niro EV same as mine

They test drove mine (thought less pressure that way) then they went to test drive a Yaris

Dad was against going full EV (even tho they have another car) but apparently feel in love with the one the went to see so have placed an order second hand

Must say approved used by Kia is brilliant, it's a year old and they give you 7 year warranty the moment you drive away so they will have a year left on their warranty when mine expires

Luckily they least went for a different colour

Charger ordered for them so they can get on the cheaper charging to go with their solar and battery (that they copied from me proper trend setting)

Drove a test car the other day,
Top secret
Very nice SUV leccy
Price expected to be £27k

Can’t say no more 😉

Can you at least tell us the range we can expect to get for that price? I mean if it's sub 200 not great if it's pushing 300 that's a good price
