Have much so, a few minor issues (12v battery) but they were sorted. The car itself is great and an awful lot larger than it looks so good for a family of 4 plus a dog!

Ironically that 12 volt issue plagued all of theirs and kias models

They are much better now but still use weaker batteries than they should

Falling electric vehicle (EV) prices are leaving a growing number of drivers in negative equity, a top dealership chain has warned.

Vertu Motors said on Wednesday that car retailers were coming under pressure as EVs coming off financing agreements were found to be worth less than the loan they are attached to

Isn't this a standard danger for early adopters of any new technology where developments bring down manufacturing costs?

That's why PCP and leasing is good for that first people .. all the risk is with the manufacturer

My work EV scheme comes online next year. Tax efficient leasing is very interesting for my next one

So hadn’t charged up for 12 days because we don’t do much mileage. Set up the car to be prepared by 6:30am at 80% .. thought all of this sorted and then it just started to put random finish times in ..
Turns out the OVO app is the culprit and has had this issue for over a year.
So I biffed the OVO app and I know their green slots for power generation so I will use my car app or charger to time in.
OVO should have warned that their app doesn’t work on BMW and Mini vehicles.. instead we live in a world where the PR rules and the reality is non existent!

This is why I went the ohme route. It uses its own app rather than octopus so I've yet to have an issue (touch wood) simple app to use aswell

The way I understand it is that even if you have the Ohme charger OVO via a subsidiary company actually takes control of the Ohme charger and lets it charge whenever there is lower demand on the network.

There latest 'offering' wants the vehicle plugged in whenever you can and will charge at random times again according to network demand.

Work car list came through last week. 8 of us are due for a change.
Has 4 EV options on there and 2 hybrid options.

No one has gone for an EV per my fleet manager on Friday . 🤣

remind me which one do you have.

BMW did a software update on mine and absolutely bollocked it. There are 2 problems..
1) it threw out the link between Octopus and the car. I was always on smart charge. Mrs would plug it in whenever she got back, but Octopus would charge it at some random time in the night without any issues. All was well. After the update, the car starts charging as soon as you plug it in. So it was charging peak hours. Last month my leccy bill is thru the roof, so i checked. Figured that it is not working anymore. So i ran around and Octopus deleted the car, and added it back and we have done it a few times, but the crap car software just does not want to do it. So i m likely to move to dumb charging via my charger. It is a bloody shambles from BMW

2) My integration with Waze over car play is even worse. It has a big lag between where the car is and what it shows on the map. The in-car GPS is fine, but it cant handle Waze at all. Waze is fine on my other BMW.

BMW is absoultly shite. The Customer Service wont even respond about software updates. There is no point going to the service centre as they wont know much about software anyways.

My friend is now a single car family... They own a Tesla. Their son started Uni. But apparently insurance premiums for under 25 for EVs is off the scales. I know it is generally high, but apparently higher for EVs

Good evening, I have had the email today telling me that my car is ready for delivery :D Only issue is I cant get it till the 3rd December due to my current lease end date.
I am getting a kona N line in sailing blue. I have my Ohme pro charger installed, am currently on Octopus so will be able to join their intelligent tariff when my car turns up.

Just a couple of questions if anyone can help (mainly aimed @PJ87)

I currently use Waze for navigaton and have noticed that I can configure it for EV but would I be better using the built in sat nav available on the car?
What are the best apps to download / setup payment details in for charging away from home (this should be very rarely needed due to having a charger at home)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not just under 25s. Our next door neighbour has a Mustang Mach E, he is 34 and his insurance is £945. My heavily modded M340i is only £600 to insure and even at that I think they are taking the proverbial.

Evening , Waze or android auto / apple I find a lot better than any in car sat nav in my experience, I have a Kia so have similar system to yourself. I'm not impressed with the inbuilt sat nav tbh. Takes me some strange ways.

Best apps zap map to see chargers

Best apps for charging on the go, electroverse by octopus , they link a lot of chargers together (not all of them) Tesla app , gridserve

Most chargers take contactless now though which is useful

Good choice or charger , it's very easy to use. Tell it you have a Hyundai but don't log into it so it can't see your battery . Then you just tell it how much you want to add. Much easier

I been spending a lot of the evening looking up cars for My mum as her car has a £4000 mot bill (13 years old) and it's exhaust is gone etc . So she has enough to get my car second hand so found her a good one and told her to take mine out over the weekend to see if she likes it so she can see it without a sales person around

Thanks for the advice, will have a play with the inbuilt sat nav but will probably stick to Waze (just wish you could save favourite locations in it)

If most of the chargers take contactless that will make it easier! I only do 2 or 3 long trips a year at the most anyway so should only really be charging at home.

In that case you should be fine with gridserve and electroverse in the main

Electroverse links to your octopus account so your charges come off your home balance which is helpful and you do all via the app, I have a card which one time I used it didn't work but apps always worked
