People are probably fed up with hearing about the new RBZ woods from Taylormade. But oh my god I was thinking about a new driver but after seeing this I may just buy a 3 wood. Dustin Johnson does hit a long ball but this is just ridiculous.

o one should be able to hit a 3-wood that far. This is the Video of him hitting the R11s Driver during a fitting he can hit the RBZ 3-wood as far as the R11s driver......:o

o who is actually thinking about buying a nice new shiny from TM when they come out then?

COR for this is .81 - only just short of the .83 limit. Most 3 woods are at around .75.. or thereabouts.

The only real problem I can see with this is distance gaps.
Assuming you can find a driver to outpace the RBZ 3 wood, you're going to need another club somewhere in the top of the bag to fill a huge distance gap
If your driver can go 280 and your 3 wood 260, you 5 wood 245 and your hybrid 230 but your 4 iron only goes 200 that's a big gap.........

If the RBZ 3 wood is going to be as easy to use and just as long/longer than a driver, then maybe the driver is dead...?

That is exactly what I think Imurg. I do not use my driver much on the course as it is as I prefer accuracy over distance. But this bad boy could maybe give me driver distance with 3-wood control? Would not be too bothered about the gap between clubs either. I only carry a Driver then 16* rescue, 19* rescue 3i in my bag at present. But if someone can put a club like that in my bag for me then.......:whoo:

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. Ive been considering a new driver and 3 wood and I'm going to give the RBZ 3 wood a test drive. If it performs well I'll just buy that instead.

I don't get that philosophy unless you are finding every fairway and putting yourself close enough to find the greens comfortably. Of course if you're playing 6,300 off the whites on a tree lined course then it makes sense to try and keep the ball in play but pointless if you still hit it into the crap.

Im going to try the RBZ Driver as I loved hitting the Burner 2.0 the other day and hoping its a upgraded version but all the hype is around the RBZ 3 wood.

Exactly mate it is actually 6500 off the whites with a lot of trouble when missing the fairways. I hit the ball far enough that I can hit my rescue on a lot of holes. Some of the par 4's I hit my 4i as it leaves a nice controlled punch with a wedge. Ok would not work for a lot of people at my place, but I hit long so can get away with it. 400 yards is a 16* Rescue and a 7/8 iron for me. Or risk a driver and have a easy knockdown PW. I'll hit the Rescue and make sure thanks......

Big IF for most of us mere mortals.

Apparently not if you have Rocketballz on your side
The hybrid has the same channel that the fairway has so, in theory, similar distance gains should be attainable....

Yes I'm keen to try this beauty. Only have driver and 4 wood which is pretty long, but into a wind or very soft turf the extra distance from the RBZ could just see it into my bag.

Well as one of the privileged few to try the RBZ 3 -wood so far I can confirm that it really is 'that good'

One of the guys with us at Wentworth - Sam aka weekend warrior - hits a long ball with the driver as does Brendy. When Sam hit the 3 - wood (14.5 degrees I think) he was only just behind his driver stats - within 5 yards!!

I cannot hit the ball as far as those guys but still found extra yardage with the RBZ 3 wood. Rather than go for something that came close to my driver distance I opted for the high launch RBZ 3 wood with the plan that it will still go a reasonable distance but have a better ball flight for getting onto greens and be very forgiving off the fairway. Even at 16 degrees it was still only 15 - 20 yards behind my drives on the day.

I have been wondering if this was a sensible approach or I should have stuck with a stronger loft but will only tell once I get it out on the course

Should be any time soon - I check the post every day for a card that says its at the Post office etc - hope the Postie doesn't play golf :)

i liek the thought of them would be interested in giving them a try. Might treat my self after all the wedding is paid off and after i complete my block lessons and have a more reliable swing hopefully.
