When I first started playing I used to be a club thrower. Threw a brand new 2 iron I had just bought over somebodys back garden once and lost it...which made me even madder. I calmed down a bit once I joined a club and began playing with people I didn't know and can't remember the last time I actually threw a club. I occasionally lob my putter towards my bag if I three putt but do it underarm and fairly gently so don't class this as an act of temper lol!!
Stupidest thing I have ever done was practice swinging on the first tee on a course in Brighton, swishing my three wood around out of harms way. I turned around without looking up and took another practice swing without realising there was a chain link fence all around the back of the tee. My graphite shaft sounded like a rifle shot going off as it hit it, and the head of the club whistled about 30 yards into some trees....knob!

Well I've broken putters, wedges, irons, drivers, utilities, in fact just about every club in the bag. I have even lost a putter up a tree.

Just the way it is. Most of the time I am patience personnified, but sometimes, it all gets the better of me.

I would like to think I am mellowing as I get older, but not totally sure.

A high green on my course is ideal for taking out the rage as you can lob your ball off the cliff and it all fizzles away..... I used to throw the club when I played the par 3 courses but thats out of the question now.

Worst I've done so far is throw a ball up in the air after 3 putting a birdie opportunity, to then "baseball bat it" with the old putter!
Best thing was, I probably hit it further than my drives that day...
Still, temper is well under control compared to my days on the tennis court a few years hence- I used to smash a new racket almost monthly (no joke)

Very good fella, I once played with a guy that said he had to get a new putter and when asked why he said his last one didnt float. I'll swear Ive seen that quote on the internet somewhere before though.

That just cracked me up! :D :D :D

And you wonder why the pro shop staff snigger and call you names before every round lol.

You know, they don't. They have seen everything before. You know the day I am not passionate about golf will be the day I give it up. Anyway, why would they laugh and call me names, they need people like me, I provide them a living. Without me, they are minding a shop.

Herb, get real, custom is custom, and if you despise your customers you don't have a business.

Played with a workmate who wrapped his 3 iron round his golfbag. The bottle of IrnBru in the clothing pocket instantly decided not to be a bottle anymore and my mate walked down the next few holes dribbling IrnBru all over the course.

Exactly, who are they going to sell that 3 iron to, or reshaft that driver, or fish the putter out of the tree at the back of the 18th green :D
In my first year of golf I can now remember one incident where I was a club chucker (tm)I did it on a long par 4 and hit such a horrible hook, off it went like a chopper rotor easily 80 yards up the fairway, a playing partner did the same at the next and I vowed never to do it again as it looked rediculous. I still beat myself up for a moment or two after a bad shot but then its business as usual.

IrnBru is apparently an insurance companys nightmare. If you spill it on the carpet it doesn't clean out properly even with professional cleaning tecniques. Imagine staining a hallowed green with that stuff!
