What's funny (Not) is the suggestion that the H/cap Sec should retrain the cards for possible use at AR rather than simply submitting the scores at the time. What’s funny?

Why is there any pressure playing in a comp compared to a GP round?I don’t get all this card’s going in every round.
I’ve never understood people putting in cards playing in a 4 ball with mates, unless it’s their only opportunity to put in cards.
There is no pressure.
There is plenty of opportunity during the season to play comps and put in cards to have a genuine handicap.
Recently a few guys from my club went to Scotland to play.
One guy has 38 points and wants to submit a card after his round (not declaring it before)ridiculous imo.
Another guy shoots 45 points but doesn’t submit his card.
Talk about managing your handicap.
The OP is not about that.... there's another equally busy thread for that idea.I don’t get all this card’s going in every round.

I believe it does tbhWhy is there any pressure playing in a comp compared to a GP round?
Does the thought of winning a bit of pro shop credit really make people lose their nerve?
Yeah the amount of double hits I see or push shots at my local mini-golf...wonder how some folk would survive without penalising little Emily a couple of strokes when she's just holed out for a 14.I know we have folk loitering at Pirate Pete's Mini Golf, reprimanding 6 year olds for Rules Infringements, but have a day off.
Alternatively...This is the problem now with the handicap police
They miss the whole point of away days and meets and charity days
Trying to suck all the fun out of it
Everyone is a grown up , put a card in if you want , don’t if you don’t want too
Alternatively...
Everyone is a grown up - so just abide by the rules (that you agreed to when obtaining a handicap) and stop making life difficult for volunteer handicap committees by trying to pick and choose when and where those rules apply.
So I doubt any cards will be submitted.
Why would anyone be worrying about their handicap, unless they have they attached some unwarranted prestige to it (and the meaningless club Stableford comps it's largely based on), or think it is something to be managed or manipulated? Its a relaxed fun day for most , no one is caring about handicaps , for most it’s getting out to enjoy another course
Making all these events “handicap qualifying” will stop people entering as they aren’t there to worry about their handicap or their scores
H4H is a perfect example , there is no pressure on anyone to worry about handicaps, raising money for a worthwhile charity is the main point - people don’t want to see my handicap secretary standing at the front door checking everyone’s card to make sure it’s added.
Some people just can’t seperate themselves
If its of no concern or worry why worry that the rules are in any way followed? Why would anyone be worrying about their handicap, unless they have they attached some unwarranted prestige to it (and the meaningless club Stableford comps it's largely based on), or think it is something to be managed or manipulated?
Corrected the final word for you.Surely it depends if it is a serious event or involves a pre-round piss up etc
Last year for ours was a serious game, so we did submit them.
This year will be beers on the coach, lunch with wine and then golf.
So I doubt any cards will be legible.

As a member of the M&H committee I doubt it.You'll all be excommunicated!
