Shortest medal ever?

I tore of most of the toe nail on my big toe last night. Right foot, so hard to hold that follow through. It all looks a bit Lionel.

Blimey coincidence
did exactly teh same yesterday but left big toe. Moving settee with sandals on and missus and duather pushed before i was ready . never known so much pain (and blood!)

Nearly had to play in sandals today, but found one of my 3 pairs of shoes that i could get on.
6 down after 9 !
Apart from obvious effect on game, i hit 3 shots (wedge, 7 iron and 9 iron) 30 yards through greens into wind !?

You borrowed Smiffys whilst he's away?

Can't say you did the right thing.... walking back to hit a wedge is hardly holding up the field. If you're going to do that why bother turning up at all?.... do you have to start a round par, par, birdie in order to finish it?

Nope, happy to run up a double early on, as I can still par quite a few holes and get it back. But, I should not have been playing at all. Had I started with a couple of pars, I might have toughed it out, but as it was, given walking wasn't a given, starting with a double, holding up the guys behind, and or my playing partners didn't seem a good idea. I really don't get where the ball got lost? It wasn't a bad shot! Not a big fan of n/r, but today, what ever.

I guess if you are injured then what the heck although for the sake of 130 yards I'd have been tempted to go back regardless as there were still 17 holes to go. You've only had this swing since Monday - what is different about it apart from the dodgy toe

I really don't get all this 'Thou shall not NR' nonsense. If you are having a bad day and already going to go up 0.1, what is the point of holding the entire field up while you walk back just so that you can complete your card and sign for a nett 90?

I NR'd today on the 34th hole of a 36 hole event when I hit a 3 wood 2nd shot up the right hand side of a par 5 only for it to trickle off the fairway never to be seen again. All 3 of us in the group thought it was going to be fine but as my score was crap there was no point in holding the field up.

No issues with this at all but can't abide those who NR after9 and walk in because they are playing poorly

Day day? On the 1st hole?

I think he read the post where 'The Rod' NR'd on the 2nd hole and just wanted to beat him.....

He did and it look like it's

A NEW FORUM RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!

good work murph, makes my effort look like Faldo at Muirfield.

We only need a first tee NR to get the perfect set!:D

NR or don't NR it's up to the individual, for me I was mentally shot after my 7 off the 2nd tee. To NR was a release, I was certainly better company because of it. Still marked a card and kept a fairly average stableford card going.

Two shots.

Ok drive, right hand first cut, 137 to back pin.

Nine iron, pin high, misses green by three yards on left hand side. Never found it.

N/r.

Magic.

Couldn't see the point of walking back, and holding up the whole field. Not fair on playing partners. Walking also not easy at the moment.

Disgrace, I'd ban you from the next medal!

Up to 9.6, so back to ten.

QUOTE]

surely you were already off 10 (9.5) if this took ya up to 9.6...
;)
every sympathy for the injury mate realy, but as it was this early surely just head back & play again , wave the group behind through if they were waiting .. we have all had to go back & usualy the group behind are understanding , esp early on ,

@ drive4show....... Just On NR's ... I know ya get the .1 back but if a few people do it it can effect the CSS ,(and effect others been cut or not) esp if those few had bad scores , cant it ? so surely you have some kind of duty (for want of a better word) to other players

Sounds like im having a go but honestly , hand on heart im not ..
