I have a perfectly good pair of Nike shoes that cost £60 about a year ago. They are worn down, smell a little but are still waterproof.
The studs on them have worn down and before the season starts i would have to replace them. How much would it cost (8 on each shoe)?

therefore i was wondering what your views were on buying possibly the best shoes ever (Adidas tour 360 3.0) for £69.99 or should i just get the studs replaced?

A set of spikes or cleat is minimal. If you have a problem getting any out I'm sure your pro or assistant will help. I had one cleat in a pair of FJ's that I couldn't shift and was going to give up or go to town with pliers and all sorts. Rather than damage the thread I left it with the assistant and he'd done it before I'd finished my coffee and no charge.

I have a couple of pairs of shoes with spike in for the winter and change them back to cleats for the summer and them jsut go around the rest of my shoes and replace any cleats that are broken or worn. Two packets will do a full change from spike to cleat on a pair and give me more than enough to sort the other 5 pairs of shoes

I don't know about the best shoes ever!!!!

I'm a total Adidas whore, and only wear Adidas shoes - both trainers and golf shoes. I've had two pairs of the Tour 360 3.0. The first pair are white and were bought for summer golf. Very comfy and I really liked them, so bought a black pair for winter golf - leaked like a seive, nearly had trench foot after the round. Very good customer service, both from the pro shop where purchased, and Adidas. Sent them back and Adidas replaced them immediately with a new pair of Tour 360 4.0, and let me keep the other pair to wear in the dry  Have worn the 3.0 once since (because I didn't want to get the 4.0's dirty :)), and got damp feet again, also wore the white pair whilst the black ones were returned - got damp feet there too (could possibly argue that they are nearly two years old and very worn so no waterproof guarantee anymore). There are some other differences in the shoe, the 4.0 has a thinner sole, so you are closer to the ground, and the spikes are slightly different. I had no problems wearing them in and the 4.0 haven't let in a drop of water yet, despite some very damp conditions on the course.

I like the 3.0, very comfy and good in the dry, but I don't think they are the best shoe ever.......In the short time of wearing, the 4.0 appears to be a much better shoe.

how about these golf online ??

I have the brown ones, which I cant find. I think they were made for the Open when it was at Carnoustie and they are incredibly comfortable. My last pair split on the sole after 10 months use and as there is a 12 month waterproof guarantee I have just received a brand new pair for free :p :p :p

I'm a big fan of Footjoy's AQL range of shoes. I've never had a problem with dampness getting in, they fit like a glove, and there is a vast array of different styles available.
I have a black pair for winter use, and have replaced the standard soft spikes with "stinger" metals so that I stand less chance of going arse over tit. Being all black they are easy to keep clean too. Mud just wipes off and with a bit of Cherry Blossom they come up as good as new.
I have a white and tan pair for Summer use, have kept the soft spikes in them for lightness. They fit like a pair of slippers and weigh next to nothing. I love 'em.
Have literally this morning ordered a similar pair in white and black, again for Summer use.
I don't like wearing black trousers with brown shoes...
;) ;) ;)
AQL's can be picked up from £39.00 a pair if you shop around and the most you will pay is £55.00 or thereabouts for even the latest 2010 versions. I think they are a golfing bargain.
My black ones are about 18 months old now and have been worn in all sorts of crap....they still look, and feel, as good as new.

FJ's for me. I have 2 pairs and they are the best shoes I've ever had. My son has a pair of stuburt but he has had some problems. He had to return 2 pars of them because of water getting in, these were both new pairs. So I'll stick with my FJ's.

I'd agree with Smiffy and say that the Footjoy AQLs are a very good shoe especially for the money. I have 3 pairs of FJ Premier Classic Dry which are the dream so have never considered the AQLs. Then when I took the clubs out of the car at Woburn one day to remember I hadn't packed my shoes, the AQLs were the only thing in their pro shop under £150!! Wondeful comfort and as long as they are kept clean and polished look pretty good too.

I'd also recommend the old Addidas z-traxions, you can pick them up from some discount web shops or on ebay for less than £30. I'm on my 2nd pair of them for wearing when it's wet and they are also very comfy and most importantly waterproof.

Agree with the lads above, FJ AQL are very comfy and kept me dry so far.

Thinking of treating myself to some Dryjoys or another pair of AQL once the weather inproves.

I AM A ADIDAS MAN SO BUY THE NEW ONES AND GET SOME NEW SPIKES AND THEN YOU HAVE A SECOND PAIR TO CHANCE AROUND THE ODD TIME,AS NEW SHOES TAKE A LITTLE TO BREAK IN
