Best golf shoes for season ahead - what do you recommend.

Did you get the same size as your shoe, might try them, i have used similar in the past but they didn't lock my feet in, having narrow heels I think I need something around the top of the shoe to stop my feet moving even heel grips didn't work for me
They are cut to size

not sure if anyone else has this issue were the heels rip on the inside of the shoe it's happening with every golf shoe iv owned been fitted ect and still does it even with the pumas
Yes, I do it to every pair I own, even the Tour 360's with the leather inside the heel I managed to burrow a hole in them.

Not sure if it's an issue with the shape of my heel, the shoes just don't fit right or if I don't tie them tight enough. I've got a pair of Adidas with the boa thing just now, I've been twisting that very tight to see if it makes a difference.

For me it's narrow feet and heels so something that secures just below the ankle is what seems to be working for me, I done the same with the boas over tightened but still slips out,

I actually know the answer to this! I used to get heel issues where my feet would rub the inside of every bit of footwear causing the same problem you have always had it since I was a kid. few years ago (23) I started to get shin splints when running with weight due to work. So I got sent to a specialist physio and turns out my shin splints were also caused by the same reason the heels in shoes wear out.

Over pronation of the feet (Heel rolling inward), causes heel slippage and something called medial heel whip which is a biomechanics fault causing the heel to rotate and constantly hit and wear against the heel of the footwear.

Was solved by getting proper fitted orthotic insoles for my work boots and trainers to correct the over pronation and also was advised to ensure you use the “runners loop” the very top lace hooks in every single bit of footwear as that is the loop that ensure the heel is locked in place in the shoe. Physio said it’s a really common thing and especially with those with flatter feet or low arches. 23 years later following that advice I’ve never had the issue again with any shoes 👞

I do the runners loop thing with my golf shoes after googling as I was sick of having to re-tie my laces during a round, so at least I've got something right. I do also have flatish feet, when I was young my friends gave me a nickname of "penguin" as they said I walked like one.

So sounds like I need to get some fancy insoles of some sort to fix it. (y)

Medial Heel Whip...
Root Causes: Often stems from weak glutes (hip stabilizers), tight hip flexors/calves, or limited big toe mobility.

Yep, tight everything about covers me.

Weirdly tight hip flexors is often caused by weak glutes. Sounds like you need to get squatting 🤣

But glad I could be of some help my previous pain may help your issues 🤣

I still have flat feet so insoles are my friends.

What about if you used to lift and squat heavy when you were younger and didn't stretch at all? I think most of my stiffness is from a combo of not stretching while lifting when younger and being stuck behind a desk all day.

Sounds like we’ve lived a similar life. See the fitness thread for my comment just today about my lack of mobility from years of neglecting to stretch after training.

I’m doing daily mobility work now going forward but I’m hoping I’m not to far gone as everything is so tight and feels like it wants to snap !

I've been doing a stretch that Greg Rose of Titleist gave out to someone in one of his videos. It hurts like hell and I can barely breathe when doing it so I've not been consistent with it. I should be doing it everyday but I did it last Friday and then Monday. It's like a whole body stretch to stretch out all your fascia but my fat gut gets in the way.
