Best golf shoes for season ahead - what do you recommend.

FJ Flex are very comfy. Not sure what grip would be like when it’s wet.

FJ Fuel are also very good.

Me, I’ll switch from Tour Alphas to Mizuno Wave Hazard once it dries up a bit. Probably one of the comfiest shoes I’ve worn.

I always fancied a pair of Duca Del Cosma, the Kingscup. Italian and very colour, very trainer like and probably designed for a much younger age group than me, but what the hell.

However, I have two new pairs of shoes. Some Sketchers, comfortable, waterproof but bland. And some Mizuno Genem Boa Gore Tex. Their looks are debatable, but their quality is not, neither is the comfort out of the box, or the price, although I got these for £50 new in the box off eBay. Don't ask me how.

There's a pair of Footjoy Traditions in the garage, 3 seasons old, and I reckon that I get a bit more out of them come summer.

I’ve got Kingscup (white, red & blue), very comfy with decent grip.

I usually take them to Spain with me as they are also very light.

I’m after a very comfortable shoe for the warm and dry season ahead (not fussed on them being waterproof)

I’ve gone through countless pairs of Adidas (awful) Nike (awful) Under Armour (not bad) and Puma (probably the best so far).

I think it’s about time I tried something else. Always gone with ‘style’ over anything but seems like I get through them quicker than I should.

Any recommendations appreciated

I've just ordered these, (UA Phantom) on winter sale clearance from Clubhouse golf. Not tried the golf one yet but have a couple of pairs of the same shoe as a trainer and really like them

Ecco’s for me, most comfortable golf shoes I’ve ever had and also stable, highly recommend
I’ve had a couple of pairs of Eccos. They have been decent but the wife used to complain they stunk like cat wee when they were lying in the utility room. She was right as well, they did stink, even when kept in a shoe bag. I switched to Skechers and have had no smell issues with them. They have also been very comfortable right out the box, and the waterproofing is good. Wouldn’t buy anything else for summer (have got FJ boots for the winter).

I got my summer golf shoes in Decathlon shop.

Sold as "Quechua walking shoes".

They seem fit for my purpose and I can wear them off the golf course.

The later stuff have leather(ish) stuff in the heel which replaces the older material. They’ve been a lot better since the change.
I didnt know that, but it makes a lot of sense, my mate has just got some funky adidas some im keeping a close eye on how his perform. I got my lad some code chaos and he says they are like slippers with great grip..... im worse than my wife when it come to golf shoes, i have to pay cash and sneak them into the garage so she doesnt see them......

I really like the look of the Adidas CodeChaos and saw some nice ones on sale before Christmas, but I already have about five pairs of golf shoes on rotation and couldn't justify another pair. 😬

You're welcome
The line between golf shoes and trainers is so imperceptible these days that you might as well just wear your everyday trainers in the summer months. 😄

I mean...

Not golf shoes: https://www.adidas.co.uk/samba-og-shoes/IE0877.html

I'm not seeing much difference here.

It's very subtle, but the samba golf shoe has:
  • A thicker midsole, there is more cushioning in there to make it fit for purpose for long walks
  • More grip on the sole, the tread pattern has much deeper lugs
  • Material on the upper looks a little different, I'm guessing this is to provide a higher level resistance to water (or it could just be a different style)
I have no problem with people wearing regular trainers for golf. Personally, I wear trainers to the range or to practise, but out on the course I've found shoes purposefully designed for golf provide me better grip when swinging, and keep my feet dry when walking in wet rough .
