Did anyone else see his antics at the end of last nights round? Running onto the 8th green, pulling the flag out himself quickly 2 putting so he could run to the next tee and tee off before the hooter went. In the meantime his playing partners are still back on the 8th fairway. When he played his shot to the 9th green the group in front hadn't putted out yet either. All very strange and I thought very disrespectful.

I can't agree because the group in front must have agreed to wave him on. I think his group agreed he should do it to allow them to complete the hole they were on (9th) after the hooter and it means one less hole today.

Rory is a very talented golfer and one of the biggest and outspoken critics of slow play. He hates 5 hour plus rounds, if more professionals took his stance and view professional golf would be easier to watch.

Didnt see this.

If he finished the hole on his own then played the next on his tod aswell how can his partner mark his card? And how can he mark theirs?

May be a silly question but didnt see it so not sure what happened!

I agree. Was it him that left ben crane behind towards the end of a round a few years back cos he was taking an age?

Yip,

he was that fed up we walked ahead and stood on the green with his hands on his hips before Crane had even hit his second shot!

Unfortunately sky's coverage ended just after he tee'd off on the 9th. So I'm not sure if his playing partners completed the 8th and joined him to finish the 9th. If it was agreed between the 3 of them then that's fair enough, but the way the commentators were talking I don't think this was the case. It certainly appeared bizarre.

I thought it was agreed between all three players, so that he could get his drive away, enabling all three to play the last hole.

Ok so I checked the scores, it appears his playing partners did also finish the round. Very strange to watch a pro rush 2 putts and then sprint to the next tee to rush his tee shot.

I think he took one for the team to be fair. I recall seeing him laughing with another players caddy who seemed to be thanking him for doing it.

It was agreed between the players as they wanted to finish last night so they could have a lie in today

Johnson, Ogilvy & Sabbatini Report

In this case fair play to him. I just wish the commentators were aware of this at the time.

I thought I heard one of the commentators say he was doing it for the group and it had been agreed but could be wrong. I was working at the time so missed a lot of what was said in the aftermath - I did see him high five the other caddies and offficials though so assumed they were all in on it

Good to see someone who is not afraid to speak his mind and be a bit different than the PGA slow clones. The silly hats are a mistake and he is not the most endearing person, but you you have to respect his golf firstly and his aim to speed up the professional game.....even if the methods are sometimes a little petulant.

The silly hats, are to protect his face from the sun, because he had a skin cancer scare. Perhaps not so silly after all!

Don't like the man he wears stupid hats.

Pretty sure i heard last week that the reason he wears those hats is because he had skin cancer on his face which was removed last year. Apparently these hats keep more of the sun off his face.
