Rory and his new driver

I had a r15 from when they first came out and then changed to a titleist 915d2 and now find plenty of fairways but it's hard to ignore all this about the m1/m2 are they that far ahead of other drivers?

He walked off disappointing score

Sorry but I still don't understand how messing up the 2nd shot or missing a putt or bogeying a hole detracts from how good a drive is. Launching a ball 290 yards to only 10 feet from your ultimate goal to me is a great shot, irrespective of what I or in this case Rory subsequently did

Its just an old golf phrase, something like its not a good shot if you don't make the putt or something similar. Or at lease I assume that is what was meant.

Clearly not a golfing god like Peter Finch last week, driving the 290 yard par four to twelve feet and making eagle at Camberely Heath. Surely even McIlroy driving a green isn't going to make eagle every time and so as long as he's walking off with birdie then he must be making ground on a lot of the field

Well Peter Finch didn't walk off with birdie. As I said... made EAGLE

As for Rory hitting a green and two putting, it may not be "special" but making a birdie with an eagle chance is ideal for the scorecard and that's all he cares about

He left a shot on the course and walked off disappointed, is all he cares about 290 yards downhill he is going to expect to make at minimum of 2 3s in the week
