Seems Rory has stated on the course that he is getting an extra 15 yards out his new Taylor Made M2 driver! He made the comment to Radar on the 8th (his 17th) this morning

15 yards? That' some improvement for someone who was already one of the bigger hitters on tour. Something to be said about his old Nike Driver by comparison.

I think TM are going to be mighty impressed by him

i saw some highlights of his driving earlier and he was absolutely launching it. 290 yds par 4 to 10 ft with the new 3 wood too lol

If you don't have an M1 or an M2 you are playing at a disadvantage. I do think they give a competitive advantage over all the drivers out there.

And no I do not work for Taylor Made, this is from my own experience testing drivers and seeing stats.

I tried out an M1 with a flight scope the other month and was carrying it 25 yards further at the range, my friend likewise with the M2.

I've recently put the M2 in the bag and it's awesome. I've even put the shaft from my R15 in it and it's still a massive improvement. A real game changer for me.

I had one and it didn't work for me at all, you can't say that there is a best driver out there. The 915 works much better for me.

I think the story is Nike staffers can use whatever they want and what other manufacturers pay the player isn't owed by Nike anymore, they just make up the difference

I went up to my mates range the other day to sort out which driver and shaft combination was best as i have about 6 shafts on his flight scope

M1 430 with Rogue silver 70 g is the one i've been using. hit that 230-238 carry on reg setting. tried the others all about the same. i had brought a White tie a few months ago but dismissed it as not stiff enough. so he said lets try that.... 240 carry every time. so he says have you tried the M2.. so sticks the white tie on the M2...


258 carry with the first one and even the bad shots still went 240+...

so now have another driver added to my collection , so selling the others.

sometimes its the best way to be! Imagine if he won the masters picking his own clubs
