Rory and his new driver

Its only 16 hours from the UK according to google maps ;)

I highly doubt its worth all the effort but I am sure they will accept orders from around the world if you can be bothered to send your club head.

Would assume a UK based company who could do the job just as good. The paint job does look excellent i will admit.

It's a black armor finish too, which they apparently took 5 years to master. Looks sweet af though

I have found it very interesting what clubs the Nike Players have chosen to play now they can use what they like.

I read last week Casey had tested a TM driver and picked up a lot of distance. He chose to keep the Nike in the bag for the tournament, due to hitting More fairways with it. He said once head had time to refine the set up he would be using it.

Watching the first round in China. Casey has the M2 in his bag with a Nike headcover. Frank Nobilo said he'd found 5mph of extra clubhead speed compared to his Nike driver which equals approx. 15-20 yards of distance! How is that possible when they already use equipment specially fitted for them from Nike?

TM are the king of drivers imo.. Nike are like the Sony of the world.. make bit of everything but specialise in nothing

if u want a wedge go to vokey or Cleveland
a wood go to TM
A Putter to oddesey or scotty c
irons I hear mizuno are the dons

nike just seem cheap to me mass produced stuff

Do you think they say things like that to try and stop you just going to see a good painter?

I'd tend to agree...however, after going to a good painter for some other works, paint still comes off far too easily

Doesn't matter though, as I won't be getting my M2 done anytime soon

I seem to remember an awful lot of positive comments when the first white drivers came out. Seems times are a changing. It's clear that TM have made an exceptional driver in both the M1 and M2 and that most of the top players are using it. That has to be a clear indication that whatever colour it is, they work. McIlroy seems to have settled in with his and it has to be good for him going forward, especially if he can bomb it out there, and find more fairways in the process

the 5mph was ball speed not swing speed

Not debating your conclusions, but not following your logic here.

Are you saying Titleist are only specialising in wedges & putters, & Callaway for putters?
Cleveland did all clubs until quite recently.

No I mean I don't think Nike make anything that really stands out however the ones listed make really stand out products in these areas

So it's the case that the Nike players are on the hunt for new gear but can play with there old Nike stuff till then.

Surely Rory will still be wearing there gear.. as he's still in this 250million deal.

Personally I think these boys should pick what's best for them. They are all millionaires x amount of times over. Surely now it's all about winning and getting the gear that will help them do that the easiest way possible

The sponsorship deals got them that rich though, but your right they should just pick whats best for them.. its weird though Nike have worked for years with rory etc but he looks set to get better results without it being built around his game.

Rory will still be nike clothes, as is day now I believe (someone correct me if im wrong) I swear I read that because of adidas selling off their golf interests he is switching his clothing deal to nike

Might be something in that then with Adidas pulling out of Golf and Nike have signed up day and say a few others to there clothing in return Rory and Casey etc need to use TM clubs by x date.

Would make more sense as am sure these boys are under a contract still with Nike and Adidas/TM at the moment.

Kind of like we give you day and Garcia and yous can have Rory and Paul.

adidas aren't pulling out of golf, they are looking to off load TM. Sergio has a long term adidas deal and DJ has just extended his deal with the three stripes.

Jason Day was a Nike man in his amateur days and apparently great friends with Tiger

Rory can use what he wants at the moment and is still getting shed loads of money from Nike I can't see him rushing into a new contract with anyone else especially as he is looking happier with the Scotty back in his hands.
