Random Irritations

Mine would have been told to go bin diving themselves.
If she could reach into the bottom of the wheelie bins I may have considered it!
Depending on their ages, I agree. However by dad doing it, he scores with both as 1 has her item she thought lost back, and the other has stopped her sibbling having any grounds to have a go at her.
Exactly this it was easier for me to do and keep the peace whilst diffusing any comebacks between my daughters.

Plus they now both they owe me best behaviour and perhaps a coffee in bed tomorrow 😂

This. Dunno about you but I’d probably rather spend my time dumpster-diving a wheelie bin in the cold and dark than listen to my teenage daughters have one of their long but pointless squabbling contests 🤣

Mine had to go in the recycling bin so I could get the lid closed, it was all their toy packaging after all.

Do you think you had it better than your dad and your dad better than your grandad?

I know I have, and I hope my grandchildren have better childhoods than I've given my kids.
Being “spoiled rotten” does not define a good childhood. Spending quality time with your kids does. I treasure the memories of my Dad taking me to Ibrox, Hampden, museums, the shows, the pantomime, the tattoo etc. much more than any present.

BTW, I’m not criticising you or anyone else on here. 😇

Yeah I get it, unfortunately mine will be coming with me to Molineux when they start misbehaving.

When I were a lad you asked for one thing and got one thing.
A bike, a skateboard, a digital watch etc.
We work on the 5 present rule. Something they want, Something they need, Something to wear, something to read and something to do.

So example this year one daughter got Headphones, Trainers, Jeans & Jumper, 3 book box set and a Go Ape voucher to spend time with me doing something. Seems to work well they don’t ask for a lot and everyone is happy.

It’s always the hope our families future generations are better off than we were my kids do better than I did at Christmas, birthdays and throughout the year and I’ve minding my grandkids when they come will do better still. ❤️
