Random Irritations

We are providing the food and drink.
We have asked everyone what they would like think it’s only fair to do the same.

I just wish the idiot had thought to tell us sooner.
Their room is full of presents at the moment which I’ll have to move later so they got somewhere to sleep tonight, he was meant to come back tomorrow morning.

Anyway off to Tesco to buy a couple of Courgettes 😂😂

Then 20 regal and a half bottle of rum should suit them fine 🙂

Need to make a decision between the Jaecoo 7 and the MG HS for our new car but just cannot decide. Positives and negatives for both. 🤔🤔🤔
You can get a 1-year old Skoda Karoq or Kodiaq for similar money to a 1-year old MG HS or Jaecoo 7. Seriously good family cars that you won't be disappointed in and want to replace within a year once the novelty wears off.
Or a brand new Dacia Duster or Bigster if you value utilitarian functionality.
I'd replace our 10-year old Golf R or 7-year old BMW 520 with any of those 4 in a heartbeat if it suddenly became necessary.
The only way not to lose too many thousands a year in depreciation is to get something you'll still be happy driving in 5 to 10 years.

Good luck man.

A garage full of rubbish and I can’t book a slot at the top as the website isn’t working, and hasn’t been all week - at this time of the year they should be resolving ASAP with the volume of rubbish being generated.

Son has just told us his girlfriend is now joining us tomorrow for our Xmas day.
No problem apart from she is vegan so now got to go to shop again to get her some food.
Asked him what to get and his reply was I don’t know just some leaves.
Any vegans here with any advice?
Not a vegan but I was veggie for the best part of a decade and still only eat minimal amounts of meat.
If I was a guest in somebody's house I'd be happy to just not eat the meat that was offered. If they came up with any kind of meat-free alternative protein whatsoever I'd be thrilled that they'd made an effort for me.
Contrary to popular belief, veggies and vegans aren't all evangelical zealots. Hopefully his is a good'un.

I'm similar with regards to meat consumption. I ate plenty of turkey for two days, but don't have anything else in the house, nor shall I, for some time. I have some salmon and some mackerel in the freezer.

If one of my clan wanted pasta and courgettes, I would simply include that for everyone, along with turkey, stuffing, and loads of other veg - which are all optional for everyone.
I do not "plate-up" but put everything on the table for people to serve themselves.
I'm sure this would make that person feel more comfortable.

I had you down as a Bob Mortimer style "pocket meat" fan. Always a pork pie, sausage roll or scotch egg easily to hand.
Reference for those unfamiliar with pocket meat:

Oh yes. A mini pork pie on the course is something I enjoy. Freezer is devoid of these at the moment.
But this is "minimal meat consumption" because I won't be eating any more meat thing with a main meal that day.
I can go several weeks without any meat down me gullet.
Had a "full English" two mornings in a row in Lancashire in July on a golf break. Disappointed with lack of black pudding, but no complaints as it was superb over all.

Someone from up the road blocking my drive again, different car to the last time. Polite note has been left on the windscreen.

You've just had a car die on you, so can understand the lure of long warranty.
Assume it is mainly for moving child parafanalia (& golf clubs 🙂) around, so 'driving experience' isn't top of the list.
Probably not a lot in it. A bit like golf clubs, which one seems to suit your needs better. Easiest dealership to travel to. That sort of thing.
Appreciate that. The two dealerships are literally next door to each other and less than 10 mins from home. 😂

Usually one chicken dinner and 2 fish dinners in an average week for us.
Turkey at MrsA's dad's was a real treat on 25th.
And after driving 400 miles from one side of England to the other, then back, then back again yesterday, it was an even bigger treat last night when her brother put a plate of slow roasted shin of Wagu beef with all the trimmings in front of me. 20 hours later and all I've felt the urge to eat since is 6 Smints. 🤣
Just got home after leaving MrsA and the car in the West Midlands and getting home via London on trains. There's a lump of turkey we brought home from FiL's that I will be dropping in a homemade curry tonight.
Prob be mostly veggie for the next couple of weeks.
