Random Irritations

Curious terminology…and just as a ‘Like’ aside I thought @Lucifer MorningStar wasn’t a fan of such as Radio Hamas…

Childish phrases or back handed comments just make the persons point of no regard because they’ve not had the decency to say what they mean.😉

Anyway - love to all 😘
What a weird thing to do tag me and call me out for liking a post when you don’t have a clue as to the context of why !

My like has nothing to do with the use of the term Radio Hamas! My like was for the comment/context of paying a fee for biased reporting or go to prison. I don’t have to like a term to be able to like a point about how you’re enforced to pay a fee for something that is belt feeding lies! Or am I only allowed to do that if it’s slating GB News!

Some very weird comments on here tonight are they not dishing out the right meds across the asylum this evening 🤔

Apologies…I just thought it a very curious ‘like’ of a comment that included the Radio Hamas rubbish given what you’d previously been very clear about.

Maybe you should follow your own advice you give out on here and reflect on things before you judge someone’s reasoning or even ask the person commenting to clarify!

I am hugely against the BBC and what trash it provides as supposedly factual information as news and the fact it’s enforced to be paid for just to provide such dross!

Just don’t pay. We all know what that means under law…but it’s a choice we can each make.

That’s as ridiculous as your previous post!

It’s an enforced payment that breaks the law if you don’t pay it! That’s not a choice that’s a legal requirement and funny enough with my job I’m not allowed to break the law whether by mistake or choosing to!

I stand by my previous comment about the Meds in the asylum!

Eh…any of us can decide at any time to not pay the licence fee and we need not subsequently do anything that breaks the law.

Anyway.👍

Technically correct, if not morally so.

If I only want to watch Sky, I still have to fund the BBC.

Bit like having to pay Tesco to shop in Waitrose. 😁😁

And that's a bit like saying that you still have to pay taxes to fund state schools when you send your kids to private school.

So yes, we fund the BBC with a TV licence fee, whether we watch BBC channels or not.
I really like watching telly with no advert breaks. I wish there were more channels that did this.

The vast majority of TV channels are utter garbage. I can't single out BBC channels for any particular special criticism that does not apply to so many others.

If we all stopped paying to subscription TV and agreed to pay £300 a year for a TV licence, perhaps the quality of BBC channels would improve?
We get what we pay for.
If we buy a £250 driver, we can't complain about it being not as good as a £500 driver.
As we continue to pay far more for subscription telly than the BBC, I don't see how we can then complain about BBC being "not up to standard".

If the BBC could get back full coverage of the 4 Majors and the Ryder Cup, I would happily pay more for my licence next year.
But money is power in the TV-world and BBC doesn't have much.

Don't forget the BBC license fee also covers radio as well.
Radio without the ad's is so much better.

I’d say anything that’s not BBC radio or news feeds is better 🤷🏼

Ads genuinely don’t bother me at all. It creates revenue and I’d rather hear ads than pay for something I don’t like. But I’m not getting into that again 🤣

The TV licence funds a lot of things as well as BBC TV.
You don't need a TV licence to listen to BBC radio, or to use the BBC website.
You only need a licence if you watch or record broadcast TV or use iPlayer.

If you're happy to consume all your viewing via streaming services, and avoid iPlayer, there's no need for a TV licence. So all those people saying the BBC is rubbish and we shouldn't have to pay for it - you don't have to.

I find it revealing that the left think the BBC is right biased, while the right think it's left biased. That suggests to me that it's probably fairly well balanced.

I have just been thinking the last time I watched a programme on the BBC and honestly can’t think of when it was.
I asked the Mrs and she said she watched Tom Daly knitting programme for about 15 minutes (not sure on what channel) but other than that she couldn’t remember either.

She did point out though whenever we go to my parents they seem to have the telly on and it’s always on BBC one, maybe that’s a generational thing?

I do pay my TV licence I’m not sure if I need to or not but for 50p a day I can’t be bothered to check and I know when the World Cup is on I’ll be glued to it.

I'm similar, the last thing for me was the Womens Rugby World Cup.
I think there's more money wasted on people having gym memberships they don't use over the license fee.
