Random Irritations

I don't think it's necessarily down to poor quality kit. Microsoft has a track record of fubar'ing every alternate major release:
Win98: good
ME: bad
XP: good
Vista: complete joke
7: great (best ever version of Windows)
8: train wreck
10: ok-ish

So it was to be expected that 11 would be another disaster.
Our home PC is a partitioned hard drive with XP and 7.
Good and Great.
We kept it in order to be able to continue to use some very useful software.
Its my Win10 laptop that I am using today that is going to be binned very soon. I just hope Win 11 is going to break that alternating trend.

The Great British 'news' channel otherwise referred to as GBeebies...
Never in my life have I heard it referred to as that. Silly names like that tend to be from people trying to belittle it as it’s not part of what they agree in. It will then continue to devour tripe from the BBC as a trusted source.

Still each to their own. 🤷🏼

Quite - as some talk of 'Rachel from Accounts' or 'Net Stupid Zero' - very silly and frankly rather childish.

Maybe I’m to young or not down with the kids I’ve not come across those comments either. I’m a firm believer of you think something don’t beat around the bush and just make your point. Childish phrases or back handed comments just make the persons point of no regard because they’ve not had the decency to say what they mean.

Actually I could not agree more with you on that - it really, really irritates.

Manuals for products that omit the basics or where the manual dies not agree with what is on the software.

I bought a HDMI video capture device that came with a cable to connect it the computer. The end going in to the computer had a dual plug at the end, Full size USB and USB C.

The manual failed to state that the USB C needed to be plugged in to the full size USB for it to work .

I was trying it out on a laptop initially and then the desk top. The USB on the desktop is at eye height and it was only then I could see the slot for the USB C cable to go in the USB plug.

Was it like this:

If so, that's just a USB-C to USB-A adaptor attached with a plastic strap. The cable itself has USB-C (for modern PCs) and the adaptor is there in case your PC has USB-A ports.

The moderators are watching...and my post makes it as clear as can be what channel I'm talking about...but if you still can't work it out...GB News.

Well why didn't you just say?
Also, what have watching moderators got to do with you mentioning GB News?
They may even watch it, after all, according to the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board, GB News has become Britain's most watched news channel.
Who knew?

That is the one, I just assumed it was a multi connection cable (as I use in my car for the phones).

My desktop only has USB A slots and until I had seen your comments I was not even aware that my, new to me, laptop has a USB C slot (hidden well away from the USB A slots.

GB News. Don't like it. Don't watch it. Don't pay for it.

Object to Radio Hamas? That'll be £174.50 or get a criminal record.

Gosh. How simple dies it need to be?

absolutely weird comment, not seeing the humour in that at all 🤔

Be a weird diversion to end up in Sudan instead of the Arctic circle only about 3500 miles off course and be a lot of issues if the people going went to the wrong place!
Well you being military I was joking that they sent you to the aggro in Sudan by mistake but never mind eh… 🙄

Curious terminology…and just as a ‘Like’ aside I thought @Lucifer MorningStar wasn’t a fan of such as Radio Hamas…

Childish phrases or back handed comments just make the persons point of no regard because they’ve not had the decency to say what they mean.😉

Anyway - love to all 😘
