Not entirely sure how HMP works, but I would imagine it may be along similar lines to a police custody desk, where staff are responsible for the reception and release of prisoners. And the release will either be from custody, or to transfer them to Court.

No reason I can see why the same group of staff in a prison setting cannot be responsible for release and transfer of prisoners.

It’s stunning. How on earth can any prisoner, never mind a high profile one, be “accidentally released”?

It’s a bit like when they allowed Ted Bundy, on trial for multiple murders, conduct his own defence as he was a trainee lawyer and such a nice young man in the judges opinion, to use the courthouse library.
He jumped out of the window and then went on to an even greater killing spree (he confessed to 30 murders although it is thought that it was many more).

The system , not only the officer, is profoundly wrong, surely?
There is no way that officers working on discharge duties should be having any dealings with a prisoner who is being transferred.
The two should never be remotely near each other.

Did they actually "have dealings" ?

Still in bed since I couldn't put her to sleep until 11pm! She asked for water at 6 though, drank plenty and kept that down. She normally had nursery today but I'll keep her at home a little while first to make sure she's alright.

Further update: little one's tummyache was in fact a massive constipation blockage which got worse all today until she was screaming - luckily managed to get a GP appointment where he prescribed a laxative which eventually did the trick. Happy girl again. Well she still has a cold as well but that should pass soon enough.

It is if the reason they are being virtuous is for the right reasons, ie to support a cause. Many just ‘support’ something on social media for likes or to appear like they are supportive but just jump on the virtue bandwagon

Ok…but what’s the problem with that.

If the voice of those who are so accused does nothing more than add volume and reach to the cause, then that in itself is surely a good thing. That the person so accused might not be that bothered about the cause, who am I to care if ultimately their voice adds and widens support to the cause.

Because it’s nothing to do with believing in the cause. It’s often done to feign interest to generate click bait material, likes on Social media to increase popularity and doesn’t add support to the cause whatsoever because the focus is on how great they are and not the cause itself.
