Random Irritations

My irritation is that too many people hang of every word these "celebs" utter........

It’s a natural phenomena. Just because a particular celeb is an expert in their own field, they feel their opinion and how they express it is the be all.

Gary L is a prime example of how much of a fool they can make of themselves. His last faux par saw an antisemitic post of which he didn’t know the underlying connotations, or said he didn’t. He’s either a fool, or he did know which makes him far worse.

Give it a week and it’ll all just be chip papers.

Anyone with doctors in their family will know that this phenomenon is not unique to celebs.

He is just a football presenter at the end of the day

He crossed the line for his employer and he will no doubt will walk into another job

He will be fine

If he was that bothered about his job at BBC then he would have showed constraint

Yes Des Lynham was a great presenter. But
The embarrassing Lineker farewell last night.

Des Lynham was in a different league and did ten times as much as Lineker yet went with class and dignity. Lineker and his sad sycophants Shearer and Richards had to make a song and dance about doing a very basic job fairly averagely for 25 years. Throw in the fact he was paid well over and odds and was pushed before he was sacked.
Yes Des Lynham was a great presenter but wonder what the reaction would be today when he said, "Don't forget guys, stay up for Gabby, well you would wouldn't you?"

Just to clarify, Des was presenting the live football early evening and Gabby Logan was presenting the late evening highlights.

Disneyland. Opened up an hour early for hotel guests for "magic hour" thought I'd get eldest on her first big ride

They don't open bugger all until 0930 apart from 3 rides. Which are just as big queue as it's the only thing open

Poor darts

If you choose to interpret it with a sexual connotation then that’s on you.. it could be completely innocent.
I remember being asked if their was an aurora around Uranus … I think the only answer was “ quite possibly “

At the time I thought it was funny. I had no problem with it.
I was more referring to today's PC brigade and how they would interpret it.

There are rings around Uranus. They are quite faint, so you have to look very carefully and intently.

Different times, different times. You hope that modern Des would have adapted. If not, he would be in Qatar, or wherever, with Richard Keys.

I would think lots of people were at work today.
Bank Holidays are a complete non-event for many working people.

There ought to be a Bank Holiday Saturday sometime in the year.
Imagine a Saturday were all those who regularly work on Saturdays get the day off.
No shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, leisure centres, public transport etc. No sports events to attend.
What would we all do?
Of course there would still be some who miss out - Police, Fire Service, Hospital and Ambulance staff and many more.
It is never going to happen, but thinking about it puts things in perspective.

For many, a Bank Holiday means more work or a busier day than usual.

We got a lot of complaints about closing the course facilities (but not the course) for New Years Day.
In my opinion a total lack of understanding from some. Facilities closed just 2 days a year and they want to complain.

Lived with that one most of my life, some people do not even listen when I spell it.
I hear you, my forename & surname combined is only eight letters, but still so many variations.
Best was at a golf club presentation evening, received two 'trinkets', both wrong and differently wrong!
