Random Irritations

I've just had to fill in yet another tick box questionnaire at work. Does your company have an Anti Slavery policy, Child Labour policy etc? Utterly pointless, does anyone ever check them? Has anyone had a visit from a customer to check whether you are shoving 12yr olds up chimneys? I understand the sentiment but blimey they are worthless.
Yes we do check them, and no they are not useless.

What evidence have you had access to which shows “that it is clear” etc. “on pretty flimsy grounds”,
And that he was denied legal advice?
Evidence , circumstantial evidence, can be quite strong , and wrong, at the same time.

What baffles me is how long it took for his representatives, or those helping him with his assertion of innocence, to get the physical material found at the scene, DNA checked against his DNA?
True, it wasn’t able to be done at the time of his trial, but DNA checking has been available for many years.
Why was this present checking not requested all those years ago?
Here's a couple of articles worth reading:

I don't dispute it happens. I do dispute that companies will hold their hands up to it. Ticking a box on a questionnaire, emailing a generic policy in, meaningless. Unless you are going in to every company, fully investigating including speaking to each employee, you aren't going to get to the bottom of things. What happens now is tick box, nothing more.

And there’s companies selling the tick boxes(procedures).

Obviously we aren’t going to do that. The point is it starts to raise awareness.

The problem isn’t with tick box questionnaires, it’s with the attitudes of the companies who just produce generic policies rather than taking these things seriously and ensuring they don’t add to the problem.

Thank you for the links.
Those reports, if hundred per cent accurate, and the way they are written suggests to me they are, I.e. they are matter of fact and not sensational , get me thinking. What with the police denying legal representation,
the confessions, and retractions and then confessions again (in those circumstances), I would have thought that such evidence would have been subject to the highest challenge by the Defence. They certainly should have been and I’m surprised if the Judge admitted them (Did he, I wonder?)
The changes in Sullivan’s explanations, and particularly the dental evidence, would have been more telling.
I mean, if one was presented with the dental evidence, it is so strong. I.e. it was saying his teeth made those marks, Of course, it was an expert’s opinion , but if you were the investigating police or the CPS, presented with that at the time, what would you be thinking.?

I see there were early attempts to get DNA comparisons, but the decisions about those were by the CCRC, who in 2008 was told by forensic scientists that they were unlikely to be able to recover any useful DNA.
Then in 2010 they thought there should be a review( of such cases) but didn’t get round to it,!
2019 beggars belief as it seems to me procedure overrules the important point of guilt or otherwise.

My eyes have been watering all day yesterday, then I get home and got told my little girl had the same issue! I guess it's some form of hayfever that just happens at this time year. Took a Claritin this morning though and that hasn't really helped. Left eye still watering and I haven't even been outside yet.

General automotive news , closures and shrinkage .. which equals job losses.
It’s happening right across the UK and Europe.
We are also seeing reorganisations in China as well.
Bit worrying for the 48yr old + men … think I will have to onlyfans, pretty sure I can find a market 😳🤮😎

I’ve got horrendous (what I think is) hay fever. The over the counter medicines are useless. 😬
