Random Irritations

No problems here for Sky, we do get it through a dish though

So do we, but we had issues with it freezing with the screen going black last night and then first thing this morning.

I thought it was issues with the awful itvX app at first, until I saw this thread an hour or so ago and read a couple of articles.

I’ve had the golf on for an hour or so with no issues so hopefully it’s sorted.

I spoke to an ex colleague and they “suggested” that it was an over air update that went wrong.

Apparently it was re-run overnight and “should be ok” but as it’s Sky time will tell.

My folks have Sky & I know that they have had issues with TNT channel quality but that was before the issues that have been reported this week
TNT is a funny channel, I think its the way it’s broadcast but the colours always seem washed out and dull compared to other channels and the volume is always inordinately and unnecessarily high.

SKY

Glad to hear it was not my kit.

We had a power cut yesterday afternoon and mine needed two reboots to get it going again, then two cut outs in the evening I had wondered if the power cut had damaged it . In the end I decided to just unplug it from the mains and let it cool down and try again today.

Plot thickens , was on from 13.00 watching PGA till 10.35 and never missed a beat . Not geographical either as was off in Devon which is further west than both of us
If what, as my former colleague suggested, is true then not everyone will get the same over air update at the same time. Boxes with different model and serial ranges will get done at different times.

I’m not saying what he said is or isn’t correct but the symptoms are consistent and it’s not the first time it’s happened.

Follow up root canal today

Hour of filing out more pulp and such

Then she goes "see you next week to finish" erm what? Again? You said this last week lol

She then put what looked like (im sure it's not) PTFE tape inside the tooth to seal it until next week.

5 appointments so far for this tooth with the private dentist lol so much for more efficient

Paying for her new yacht

To be fair to her the price is £750. It was £300 for the filling that if it worked would have been it. I went back and upgraded to root canal and it's just the difference to pay. I mean a lot more than the NHS but all these appointments haven't increased the price

The Sistine chapel was a bit of a Mona Lisa for me. Big expectations, quite a let down. You expect a quiet, contemplative area. In reality you are packed in like sardines, there is a constant level of chatter, followed by loud shushing from the staff every 20-30 seconds or so. You try to see the area you want, can you get anywhere near it?

I appreciate it is something you might want to see but don't worry too much about not catching it

I suspect it will be quite an interesting time to be in Rome. The place will be buzzing with activity.
Rome is very busy with everything that’s going on, never mind the new pope. The Sistine chapel was rammed yesterday, and the Basilica was v busy…but the Colosseum today was less busy than normal (apparently). The Trevi fountain square was mental…too busy - but it’s beautiful.
