Random Irritations

Another team were getting answers relayed to them from someone else in the pub who was on their phone.
That’s really annoying, we are keen Quizzers and it spoils the fun when they allow cheating.
Another thing that winds me up at one of our local ones is the quiz guy will say “bonus round” but it’s not a written answer its first hand up. Every single time he picks the team sitting in front of him 😡

Virgin bill going up 7.5%, no idea why they think that's acceptable but here we are.
We've just had the same notification. The extra annoying thing is that Virgin are the only one to offer high speed fibre to the house where I am so if we leave them the broadband speed and reliability drops off quite markedly. Very frustrating that the cabling is not open to use by all firms.

Thr email saying RPI is 3.6% so you can pay us an extra 7.5% triggered me too.
We're sort of in the same boat, there's some massive trees over the road that block a satellite signal so we're stuck with these.

That’s awful

What’s the point

Just cheats plain and simple. They have form though, me and a friend caught them cheating a couple of years back at a quiz along the road, one lass was on her phone and insisting the guy writing the answers change some of them. IIRC we won that night by 1 point 🤣

Same for me,be handy if the used the money to train their staff properly.
Awful customer service.

It's much easier and quicker to drive into a restricted space than to reverse into a restricted space

It's much easier and quicker to reverse into a wide open space than reverse into a restricted space.

Why doesn't everyone do it ??

Totally disagree with that, particularly when you drive out of the space and have to reverse out and cannot see a thing until you are well out of the space.

Look at the average car park and look at how many have reversed in and are straight parked opposed to those that have driven in and the vehicle is now at an angle.

The rhetoric I am hearing, "Ukraine is losing this war."

Makes no difference whether they are losing or have lost.
France, Belgium. Holland and Poland were losing, or had lost, in WW2. The fight against tyranny continued in those places. And rightly so.
The fight against tyranny will continue in Ukraine.
Now is the time, for all good people...

Simple jobs that turn into ridiculous time consuming jobs

Tap leaking on bath, well it's spraying out of the side aswell so needs replacing..

Victoria plum don't exist anymore so local plumbing shop..

Oh we don't do anything like that

Online spares for it.. nope

Looks like tiles will need to be removed and redo the entire lot . Was hoping to not have to bother with that.. I'll keep hunting for a tap that fits the blooming outlet

That is how we see it. Unfortunately the Americans just look at the $ cost.

Also expect the US to leave NATO very soon. Scary times ahead.

Get a plumber in, any decent one will sort in no time. They know where to source etc.
Recently the sink plug, one where you push down and clicks and seals, would not work anymore.
Phoned local plumber that I always use. He asked for a pic, didn't even need to come round.
Got a text next day to arrange fitting. Young lad, his apprentice who's very good, came round at 8.15 am, job done within the hour!
Cost,, just under a hundred pound all in. 👍

Fingers crossed I've solved it

The first shop I went I called them back see what they could do and they are ordering something in so providing that fits I can leave the pipework in place

Hindsight eh. If we had known would have just got the pipe work on show so to speak

People who put clocks a few minutes fast so that they are not late for something.

Surely they know when they look at said clock that it is however many minutes fast, which defeats the object?

My missus does this with her bedside alarm clock and the clock on the cooker. It irritates me when I look at them, as I know they are wrong, and have to look at my watch for the right time.
