Random Irritations

And whilst I'm on, the number 10 who "plays" for Newcastle. What a waste of space you are. Loose the ball on edge of opponents area and make no effort at all to regain possession or even to prevent a counter attack. In fact 95% of all top players are like this. If you did this on a Sunday morning park match, you would be dragged off and not play the following week. They just don't give a poo about the team they are playing for. They are just in it for themselves. Why can the fools buying the tickts not see this?

I read the story, I was annoyed/irritated by the guy's reaction and not fully telling the whole truth. I shouldn't have to justify my irritation any more than someone getting irritated by mayo on a sausage butty!

How do they get another holiday that they have deemed to be something they need ?

Maybe they could only justifiably afford one holiday and it’s something their family requires so it’s going to take another financial commitment to fullfill that need

The Met Office does just that.
Although they never say 0% or 100%, instead saying <5% or >95% to give themselves some wriggle room for when (not IF) they are wrong.
Which they frequently are.
...as I learned in school Geography lessons 55yrs ago - the British climate - being a maritime climate - is inherently difficult to forecast as it is very changeable in the short term.

I'm considering never again using Amazon and quitting Facebook (I'm a pretty infrequent user of both these days in any case). Read into that what you will - but what you read into it is your reading and not my words. Don't think we're yet in the land of Orwell's 'thought police'.

Anyway....my main random irritation is that I can get irritated over the least and inconsequential things - I must practice further my 'so be it' and 'just let it' strategies - carrying around resentments is not good for me.

But we are very very close.

Not linked to your post in anyway but I delighted at a phrase @Orikoru used in post #54095 "Ok, you do you" ...Its such a good put down.

Maybe if you go all in on a holiday you can barely afford you should be checking that the people taking your cash have ABTA/ATOL cover.

Suddenly lacking the coordination and ability to walk down a flight of stairs in a station. Imagine a lame, middle-aged, low rent version of Simone Biles getting the twisties.

A bit more than a random irritation, but last night I had to let my best mate of 15 years go, incredibly hard but very much the right thing to do as he was starting to suffer and I always promised him I'd never let that happen.

So so sorry. It hurts so much but is the final act of love we give them. I'm still really struggling with losing Barley last March. Miss him so much.

No, sorry, this doesn't compute for me at all. If you've paid hundreds for a holiday, and your holiday gets taken away from you, you would be livid. Anyone who can just calmly pass that off as "oh well we'd have spent the money either way" must be absolutely minted. That situation would ruin an entire year for most people.

They’re better off, think of the spending money they’ve saved 😂

It absolutely breaks your heart every single time… but that’s the deal. To let him suffer would be selfish.
