Is this a joke? You don't think people should be upset at paying hundreds of pounds for a holiday and then not getting one?? They might have saved up for two years for that holiday. I guess you must be rich. :LOL:
Yes theyd should rightly be upset, but they are no worse off as it's a sunk cost.

Not at all. They have lost a holiday - they have not lost the money as it would have been spent if they went on the holiday. They are (technically) no worse off now, irrespective of whether they had the holiday or not. Their finances now are no different.

They have paid out a certain amount of money for something they have purchased and they haven’t received what they purchased so they have lost money

No, sorry, this doesn't compute for me at all. If you've paid hundreds for a holiday, and your holiday gets taken away from you, you would be livid. Anyone who can just calmly pass that off as "oh well we'd have spent the money either way" must be absolutely minted. That situation would ruin an entire year for most people.
 
Netflix. Someone has changed the wifes e mail in her account. How? She got an e mail to this effect to her original e mail. She rang them. Yup they can see that. Well I haven't done it so to what has it been changed to? Ooooo can't tell you that. Would like it changed back? Yes. Ok can you give me your credit card details to confirm the account. Er I don't bluddy think so. Well we need it to confirm your account. No problem then, close the account.

Account is now closed. And within seconds, log in has gone. Looks as though we won't be having that again. Their security is rubbish. I think I'll join everyone else at the golf club and get one of those man cave things.
 
Surely that depends on each persons own situation

If a foreign holiday is needed for people’s own mental health and well being then it’s a necessity
I'm not a big holiday person myself, but you're right, for many people the main reason they work hard for an entire year is to be able to take their family away on holiday. If that gets snatched away they'd be crushed.

They have lost money, I agree. But that money was already spent and has no affect on the money they currently have (or don't have). That is my irritation as they are trying to blame the company for their current financial situation and they aren't technically linked.

Can fully understand someone being very angry and disappointed that they have lost a lot of money if they don’t get what they have purchased

I read the story, I was annoyed/irritated by the guy's reaction and not fully telling the whole truth. I shouldn't have to justify my irritation any more than someone getting irritated by mayo on a sausage butty!
